***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I'm just tickled there are that many that could possibly hatch. I'm sure there is a lot of jostling crossing several states no mater how well wrapped the eggs might be. And you have told me about low fertility issues with the Cochin breed.
After I get back from Florida on the 22nd, I'll work on my AI techniques with Samson and Delilah and see if we can't get some good % numbers then. I appreciate your willingness to hold my babies until I get back.

Way to go old*cowboy! You're going to have a bunch of babies! You are going to have to share pictures.

Thanks Nana, I will diffanatly take some pictures. I bought a large 5 level brooder last year. 31" wide by about 4 foot long. I had thought about maybe getting one about the size of the one Carl was parting with. I am glad I drug my feet as I will probable be needing all the brooder space I have with this kind of fertility. I had a friend out west of me put 50 in his GQF that will hatch this coming week. I should have lots of young fowl to go through this year.

set everything asside for the next two weeks and drop them off when you pick these up, that should give you a real good start on the year. between the two hatches right now that should put you over 100, a few hundred more would be good and keep you out of trouble.

Guy,
I figure I can easily set the Ko in one tray, and the other LF in a tray, the NN have to go into tray by themselves, I am really afraid of the virus that causes that condition.. I might need to throw the tray away when they hatch.. Just joking..
Do I need to toe punch anything for you? if so how do you want them marked?

Just a reminder we are having our auction this Saturday. plus we also want to set the record straight we have had alot of phone calls from people saying we are through having auctions the only reason we did not have one last time was bc of the people who are in charge of the barn. we have not closed our doors nor do we plan to. we look forward to seeing everyone Saturday night.

Good to hear scoots, how have you been?

Ksane that is a pearl guinea. Will your guineas come with treats? I shake a container of scratch & most of mine will follow me anywhere. But then again it is those 1 or 2 that seem to cause the most problems!
Oh they'll come running for food. But they won't let us get close enough to get ahold of them. The 1st 2 had went into the coop and I corned each of them. We're going to get one of those fishing nets with a long handle tomorrow and keep trying. I've just got to get those screetchy girls outa' here lol
Nana, was it Boggy Bottoms that you got your d'Anver eggs from? I emailed them to see if they had some Mille Fleur d'Anver eggs. I decided if they actually had some I'd get them and hire Carl to hatch them. Otherwise I've got my heart set really hard on some Faverolles Bantam eggs. Faverolles get along so well together that I don't think I'd have a problem with a bachelor pen for the boys. I'm still surprised my huge LF Faverolles boy cuddles up with the Silkie boy every night and is fine with him. I so appreciate easy going breeds. I've about had it with brats

I think I forgot to mention today how much I love my Faverolles boy. Wouldn't want you all to forget.

You are sure right on that NN, thats an ugly you cant wash off. But I have gotten pretty fond of them. I appreciate the offer on the toe mark. I have 3 differant pens of LF asil eggs in there and 4 pens of asil bantams. If I was hatching them here I would probable mark them differant and toe mark some, but what I will do is throw them in brooders and sort when they get older. Most of them should be color coded. But again thanks for the offer.
