***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Hubby's driving gives me the heeby jeebies..he's a retired cop and drives like one...
Speaking of driving, I'm on my way to Florida tomorrow...only driving to the airport. Going to se my Dad. Will be back Tuesday evening. I think I'm going to take my laptop if I can get the new browser to load.

Getting ready to leave in the morning meant spending all day today anticipating the issues hubby would have taking care of the flock easily.
Cleaning out the pens, filling all the big water containers, worming hens while they free ranged. If you set out only treated water for them, they will all get some of it before they go back inside.
Mixing the feed for the banties, carrying extra baby food to the hot tub room and replacing quart waterers with gallon waterers.
Put new lightbulbs in every lamp just to be one the safe side. He won't check those as often as I do.

Carl, will Thursday be okay for picking up the babies that hatch this week? We have an appointment with the FSA in Chandler Wed afternoon or I could run out Wed after we finish in Chandler.

Looking forward to seeing my Dad and my sisters and brother for a few days.

You have Chicks.. By sunday there will be a bunch.. You failed to warn me they hatch early.. One labeled as AB II was already out. The KO's you will have plenty.. when moving them it was odd I could feel them moving in the egg, and most were pipped already. next time I will move yours on day 17 instead of 18.

Yippee! Guy's got babies! I wonder why that breed hatches sooner?
Carl, when you get the Fav eggs candled let me know what they look like. I kept 3 of that batch here and there's veins in all 3-does that mean they're all growing? I also stuck a Fav egg in there from the LF Faverolles yard and it's got veins, too. I've got the Fav boy and the Silkie boy in that yard so either way it'll be a pretty baby. I only tried to hatch some because I'm reasonably certain none of mine will hatch so wanted to experiment.

You have a good trip and do what you need to, they will be here when you able to pick them up.. Enjoy your time.. What part of Florida? I used to spend a fair amount of time in Westin, by Ft. Lauderdale and have family in Tampa.

Enjoy your trip nana-- try not to worry about the chores & it will make it much more relaxing. DH gets so frustrated when I call or text asking if he remembered to do something. But he also goes to the store with a list of 3 things & comes out with 2- so that is why I can't help but wonder if he remembered to pen up the birds or if he checked on the dogs food bowl.

If they have viens they are growing.. I like to wait till 7-10 days, then candle agian at 17-18 days before setting in teh hatcher, some stop part way through. Then not all hatch sometimes.. I actually have worse hatches eveytime we have a storm or weather change. but in general hit 90+%

Nana, be safe and have a good trip. Ksane, I would love to come up with some sort of wise answer to why they hatch early, but cant. I guess they are just ready to face the world. AB ll would be Asil Bantam pen 2. They should be firecrackers, and they are already ahead of the curve.

Will be in the City on tuesday. Them danged NN cross eat like little horses.

I had LF Dottes and talk about eaters.. But I can manage a day or two.. I just afraid the Virus that causes them naked necks will spread.. I don't think a NN OE would look all that good.
