***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Oh man thats bad cowboy! I was the same way when I had mine,I just thought it was the same old daily pains and stayed up half the night just hurting, found out a few months later that it was an attack and some damage was done! Now everytime I get a strange twinge I get all paranoid and wonder if its another attack!lol.I sure need to get some weight off and get more excerise and eat right but its hard to break lifelong habits.

NN I'm like cowboy,I remember seeing it somewhere that there are some NN pigeons in the U>S> now. seems like it was an ad or something. I think they would be cool! I'd like to give those frillbacks a try. Been keeping my eyes open for a couple of years but have not seen any around here.
I finally got all my ornamental grasses cut back today. Its taken several hitches to get it done. I counted when I got thru. I thought I had around 30 clumps, but I have 65 clumps! 4 different kinds. Supposed to be in the 70s tomorrow! That ought to bring everything to life. I got onion sets planted yesterday!

cowboy,you take it easy now!

Tell me about it Wayne, I am almost afraid to go to bed because had a few pains earlier. The mind can and does more harm than good lots of time. Yes I know about lifelong habits. My triglycerides was 9360 last week when they checked them. The lady that talks to me about that said the only way that I would ever get that down to normal would be to become a vegan, I told her I most likely was a goner than because that aint happening. I will cut out all fatty meat like beef and pork, but I aint giving up the poultry and fish. Yes my doctors tell me each visit how me being fat has caused a huge part of my health problems. I get tired of hearing it and tell him I know I am fat, I aint stupid, I come see him for the stuff I dont know, just fix it and save the speech. After todays call, I probable will try to follow some advise now.

I wonder if the Romanians possess some of the same qualitys that the NN chickens do like the disease resistance and the ability to regulate blood flow for cold hardiness? See us humans and most animals stop blood flow to the extremities when in extreme cold to protect the inner organs but the NNs are just the opposite, they increase blood flow to the areas affected by the cold. I think it's called Thermo-regulation.

The things that the NNs can do is fascinating to me. Usually when you read studies about broilers or layers the NNs are used as the control group because as a breed they are so stable and predictable.

mefordz you said you have had lots of frillbacks. Do you still raise them. When my son was younger and me and him went to lots of shows together, that is what he raised for most of the years he had birds. He went to Shawnee with me and we saw some there, but beings he is in college he decided it would be better to wait to get some till later. I am glad he decided that to as I would have been the one caring for them for the next 3 years. But always thought they were cool.

My wife never really got into the pigeons. She like traveling to the shows though. She did take a fancy to some Pom pouters and I got her a couple pair. After several months of her not coming out and even looking at them, I traded them off. She gives me pretty much free rein on my birds, so I didnt try to push her too hard about getting into them.
