***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Quote: I can't even call you all old LOL I will be 51 in May, Several years ago I had some chest pains on a number of occasions once at work when it got really bad I went into the bathroom and locked myself inside, Considering where I work I really didn't want anyone there trying to save me if it was "the big one" and of course it wasn't, I gave up coffee that year when the weather was hot and have ever since and I haven't had it happen again, however after the first few times I did go see my Doctor and my EKG was abnormal he referred me to a cardiologist who said I had had a heart attack but it didn't do any damage so that was a good thing, Every year as spring is ending and the really warm weather is starting I give up coffee and so far it's worked, this year I started back to drinking it and just don't have the same taste for it, I'll have some but don't go out of my way to any more it's probably been a couple weeks since I had any I think maybe it's cause I quit smoking (also good for my ticker) that I don't ever just feel like I need to have coffee like I used to. Not sleeping at night regular like I should be able to is also bad on the heart and like tonight there is just nothing I can so about not being able to sleep it either happens or it don't LOL I have the alarm set for 5am it sure gets hard to wake up when you just went to sleep it's kind of like a paradox the later it gets the more I stress about hearing the alarm when it rings the less likely it is I will sleep but I'll try again in a bit LOL

I love getting to help! Carl always gets to help everyone and I never get to lol Those are the same exact traits I like in these guys, too. The 2 Bantam Cochins I've got (sisters from Robin) have a calling in life. It's to steal everyone's eggs and sit on them. Those are 2 determined girls. I'll let you know as soon as I start getting eggs from this pen and save them for you.

NNBreeder, Love that little Chinchilla :) Gray is my all time favorite animal color, too. That's why the 1st chickens I picked for myself were Blue Cochins. I've got 2 solid gray dogs and 3 of my 4 cats are gray.

Oh now you helped me in my quest for guinea girls!!! LOL

Hello. Don't know if anyone here remembers me, it's been oh 2 1/2 years :p We gave up our chickens so we could make our house presentable to sell and now I'm out on five acres in Guthrie, like I kept talking about back then. I get to have chickens again! Yeah!!!! Anyway, Hello to all those I don't know and How's it going to anyone who might remember me :)

Welcome back!!! Congrats on the move and being able to get some feather babies. What kind are you looking to get?

Well Doc called me today and said that the stress test I took yesterday showed I had a heart attack recently. Sucks when you hurt so bad everyday you dont even know when something like that happens.

Welcome to the club, Cowboy! I had a massive heart attack back in 2003 (they had to jump start me three times), and here I am 9 years later still going strong, getting into trouble and enjoying life. I can tell you from experience, if you didn't know you had it, it probably wasn't a bad one. At least not bad enough to do a huge amount of damage to your ticker, which is the primary concern after surviving one. Me, I'm operating on 3/4 of a heart, as 1/4 of it is covered in dead tissue. Damage to yours was probably minimal.

Heart medicine has come a long way. Just do what your doc says (except the vegan part... fish is probably the best thing for you, and chicken won't hurt you as long as you don't fry it), take your meds, and you can work out just fine.

OMG how scary. On my dad's side of the family they all died from heart attacks before they were 50. He had a quadruple bypass at 50 and made it another 23 yrs after that, he was the only lucky one. Turning 52 really scared me because of the history. I can't imagine being in your position.
Aren't you on a bunch of different heart meds? Take care of yourself, please. Your family needs you!

Well you take care of yourself Cowboy.

Oh yea Ksane, good peep talk, I am 52 now. Just kidding, Thanks for the kind words.
