We really are neighbors then, I live halfway between Lex and Waynette just north of 39.

Well howdy neighbor, east or west of the county line?

Just west of it, That's really funny that we know each other LOL I know there are a lot of people that raise chickens around and some I know but haven't till now met anyone that I already knew here on BYC

I figure you already said so but what kinds of chickens do you have or are looking for?

I live about 7 miles West of Purcell. Elwood knows where but have not met him yet.
If I can remember when the sales are then maybe I can meet some fellow Okie BYC members.

OK since everyone is sharing sweet little chick pictures I will share one of ours. This is Walt (he is the dark one, a barred rock) he and his brooder mates are trying to get away from the strange camera that has entered their brooder.

Kass the suggestions for fall strawberries & then Replanting them comes from studies on getting the highest yield, for the best investment. You can check out the noble foundation site. Steve Upson has done several yrs of research on them. If you can't find the info online, give them a call. They are full of helpful information

Our chicks in the hatcher our making lots of racket. By tomorrow we will have another brooder full! DD has saved so many eggs today I actually didn't have a single egg left after cooking!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I do think atwoods chicks were around $1.50 - $1.75 last yr--- but maybe that was the hr before.

Nana my flock is doing well, i think i have to many breeds and to many birds total , hatching a few ever week. in Okie talk it aint real smart

Evening folks! Loving all the chick photos. Can't wait to get mine next month.
Beautiful day today here. I did a little work around the yard and played withe the critters.
Had a good time at the auction yesterday. Didn't buy anything from the auction but did buy two minim satin rabbits from a lady who was going out of business. One is Siamese colored and the other is a blue. So now I have a good start of that breed with a buck and three does.
I also got two more pairs of pigeons to add to my flock of American Confetties.
Hope everyone is about ready for Monday,i' m afraid it's coming weather we like it or not! Lol

Dang, AllBreeds! Got chicks? lol
Kass, my bugs are doing great! I haven't noticed any babies but they are getting bigger. I just pulled both species out yesterday and put dirt in the bottom for them. They sure seem to like it, too. Only
one of the Hissers started climbing when I was picking them up and switching them to another tub. But as soon as her feet hit the vaseline she couldn't get any further up. I just painted a super thin layer about 3" wide all the way around the top edge. That's the only time I saw one even try to climb and I'm sure it was because I was chasing them around.

Bill, it's the female of the LF Faverolles pair I got at Newcastle Jan 7th (that's losing her head hair from the roo), she was like that when I got them. I don't know but they may've been kept only with each other before I got them. Right now he's only got 3 girls with him and 2 smaller ones that he seems to leave alone. Maybe that's not enough. Sheesh, I'm running out of girls big enough though! I need some big girls for both my Cochin boys and the Fav boy. At this point they don't even have to be the same breed.
.
Jim, I've got the Modern pair together alone and she doesn't have a feather out of place on her whole body. That Modern boy must really treat her right. I just love him! He feeds her and feeds her when I give them treats and refuses to eat until she's had enough and walks off. Plus he doesn't make her scream yanking her feathers out, I never even see him breed her. Man, he's awesome. I have no idea how old he is but he can't be over a year.

I'm so happy!!! I got the Dark Brahma eggs AND the Lavender Ameraucana eggs I was bidding on

I told NoCityBoy he could have some girls out of the Dark Brahma batch if he'd take the boys and he took me up on it :) Here's hoping it's a good hatch, I love how those birds look. I'll be looking for homes for the Lavender Ameraucana boys if any hatch, too. I'm done with getting attached to the cockerels, I'll just have to force myself to let the boys go. I think I'll be able to do it now after dealing with keeping the boys from last summer.
Carl the Surrogate Broody is hatching them for me! Thank you, Carl :)
