***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thanks to Mike D. My Top hat Pekin Duck, Barbara Bushnoggin, will have a boyfriend soon... Anyone with any of these hens that are wanting to part with, let me know.
Thanks to Mike D. My Khaki Campbell Ducks will also have a boyfriend soon as well....

Congratulations on the new arrivals and prayers for the family.

Morning folks. A nice sunny morning, 45 degrees here. Bubba the knucled foot calf tolerated being penned up in the shed over night, he is doing much better this friday that when I got him last friday, sucked down two bottles in about 5 minutes.
Hope everyone has a great day.
How is the foot doing...can the calf put his weight on it yet?

I was at Johnny's in Okmulgee last weekend and bought an Arkansas Black Apple tree. Have never heard of those before. Every fruit tree I have ever bought from him have always done excellent with huge growth in the first year usually bearing a small amount of fruit the second year, depending on the type of fruit tree.
Here is a description from my STARK catalog: Super crisp and a joy for baking and cooking. Pick in October and enjoy apples up to 8 months. Best polinators: Red Delicious, Granny Smith and Jonathan.

I'm in for the evening, had to feed water, move birds through the brooders, cages, and some new additions to brooders. Still need to gather eggs and get the hatcher ready for Guy and Nanakats new hatches.

Looks like everyone is getting a good start to the year.

Oh Goodie

Been out of pocket for a few days with Sis and now her hubby. He is in the hospital for unexplained chest pains...may get to go home tomorrow after the cardiologist looks at the results of the stress tests from today.
Helped my Sis plant her shipment of trees and plants today. Beautiful day today.

Have lost two of the Cochin cross chicks...stacked up under the heat lamp in the hen house brood pen last night.

Welcom to the new folks. Hope some of you can make it to POOPS. We will have a lot of items in a raffle that will interest the children too. It's a great family event.

For the love a' God you people can talk a lot! I'm a week behind on reading so I hope everyone is doing good. I'll get caught up.
I've been busily working out where to put 'The Boys' around here, it's ridiculous how much time and money I'll have to spend to house all the males.
I'm worried about them not being happy without girls in with them but we'll see how they do.
My Bantam Fav babies are awesome. The wing feathers are coming in tan on all of them (which means female) but that can't be possible that they're all girls so I'll wait longer to see. Only a total of 7 out of the 15 eggs hatched and one of those died so I only have 6. Man, people aren't kidding when they say talk about hard hard these little ones are to find and hatch. Especially since most all eggs have to to be shipped. Their fat little cheeks and round bodies are precious though.
Channing my Serama tips his beak at everyone and says hi!

Welcome to all the new folks.

POOPS will have lots of items in the raffle for the children...a great family event!
If anyone has things to add to the raffle, please PM me so I can keep track. Remeber the proceeds from the raffle will help fund our future POOPS gatherings.

I'm going to add a dozen large fowl Columbian Wyandotte eggs to the raffle list. We have been getting a good hatch percentage of these birds that are from Carl's breeders.

Started working on getting a few things ready for the auction. Then spent an hour watching dh try to remove the PTO extender on the tractor. It is stuck!!!!! He is so mad that he finally came up to the house to wash up. Frustrating when a simple task turns into pure aggravation.

Need to get to bed early. Think it will be a late auction. Plus @ noon tomorrow I am going to a grocery auction in Fletcher, not sure what to expect from the grocery auction. They have it once a month for at least the past yr. Interested to see what types of stuff they have.
