***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Moring all, big plans for the day?
I am going to disconnect my winter / early spring lights and timer and put them up. Clean the brooder building, clean the hatcher. Then clean the house and hopefully get the garden cleaned up some more and ready to to get some more stuff in the ground.

I have fall / winter turnips going to seed now and I think I will let them do that and go head and plant more scattered about for teh deer and other animals to eat as well as start some watermelon and canatlope out back for the deer.

I have to go to the feed store, plant some stuff in the garden, build the fence for the bee hive, clean out the chicken building, see if I can fix the ceiling fan.........no telling what else.

good morning! Looks like a wonderful day, even if we get some rain. Planning to go to Newcastle tonight if we can get all the goals of the day met.

I was selling turkey hens a few months ago and being cautious to not sell any toms, because I needed to keep one tom to have Spring poults. Looks like we ended up with 3 toms and 5 hens.

I understand the feeling, I had a call and have to go to work for a few hours either today or tomorrow so to have some stuff fixed and ready for Monday morning. I am thinking tomorrow morning I will just go in around 4 or 5 and spend 3-4 hours get everything fixed and still have my day here to finish what I need done. The dang list just keeps growing.

I hear ya on the list! Everytime I think I am getting caught up, the list grows. I hope to knock out a good part of it this weekend & week. Next weekend will be a show so that will take care of most of Sat.

Sooner I will need to go take a count but as it stands I will have at least two possibly three young trios for Lil-sooner they will range from 9-12 weeks in age and look very promising at this point. They are birds I should probably keep for my self but I can make more and know that you two will show them well which is more important since I will be keeping few for show myself and setting asside primarily breeders.

How many more shows does Madison have?

Morning all, a nice balmy 68 degrees F this morning, looking foreward to another pretty day. Garden is all in after yesterday ............... Now lets hope there is no freezes coming . Just in case have enough plants started in the green house, but what to do with them if the put in garden survives ?

Even the warm weather stuff (toms, peppers, okra, cukes, squash etc..)?

I tried to start seeds this year I do have a few puny plants, but may need to go ahead and purchase the majority of my toms and pepper plants again this year. I hope to have my greenhouse built this year, do you heat yours? How early can you get stuff started in it in this area?

It's always good to have a back-up male but sounds like you may have an extra back-up or a meal in the making.
