***OKIES in the BYC III ***

So beautiful! I'm a total newbie -- could you tell me about the auction folks are talking about here? Where / when/ how often....?

Happy Easter, Everyone! I'm new here and new to raising chickens. Just a backyard coop and run with 6 pullets but loving it!

Welcome to the Okie Thread, glad you found us, we are running thin on enablers this week (cough, cough) but I'm sure someone will happen along that has or can help you find whatever kind of poultry you might be looking for or didn't know you were looking for yet :)

We're all talking about the New Castle Auction, 1st and 3rd Saturday every month. There is another one...but I'll never go to that one again...so wouldn't waste you're time there....great birds and friends at New Castle!

Where you from and tell us about your 6 birds....

WOW you all were a chatty bunch this weekend! Sad we missed the auction last night but looking forward to this week at Blanchard. Things were busy here this weekend. The boys and I got out and finished another a-frame coop on Friday and then went to the auction in Harrah, didn't buy anything but it was nice to see a friend from high school there and visit for a bit. Then yesterday was crazy busy with egg hunt and then the baby shower followed up with a cook out at my sister's house. Hubby's race got rained out in MO so he was home before I was last night, lol.

Does anyone have any first hand experience with Denagard? We had some resp. stuff here a while back and then just this morning I noticed a 5 week old chick with a sneeze. It looks and acts fine but I have moved that entire bunch of chicks out to the quarentine area since I don't have any other birds out there. I am taking no more chances. I was reading about Denagard and want to order it since I am guessing it can't be gotten locally. But want to know if it is worth having on hand before I spend $25 for it and then $10 in shipping.

No experience but I love ordering from revival animal health. Prices are good & shipping isn't bad. I am sure if you look around you can pick out a few other things too. Only time I have had respiratory issues I used tylan50 injectable.

I've been working on the girls summer run today. I should finish it up today. I had the human food part already planted and the tire / fencing trellis made and planted for human food and shade, today I mixed a bunch of chicken friendly seeds (boss, turnip, collard, rape, radish, spinach, mustard, etc....) I am planting that in all the free space outside of the tires, so that when they are able to go in the run maybe mid Juneish when it gets hot it should be all grown and full of green food for them and me, that's the plan anyway.

I had to way overplant the boss since I had two helpers Yeta and Nugget (aka Thelma and Louise) they plant seeds like I pick strawberries ................ one for the bucket, two for me ............. one for the bucket, three for me ............ etc...
