***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I also am hatching w/ the kindness of a fellow BYCer. Poco it hatching some eggs for me. I didn't intend to hatch anymore but someone wanted to trade Oreo and his ladies eggs for some of his.

Is anyone that sells chicks or keets and/or other babys interested in some small cardboard boxes?
A neighbor of Jack's and mine works at a Vet. clinic and has been bringing us the boxes from the med's and ect. that gets shipped to the clinic. Jack uses alot and I use some but they have a lot more. I can bring some to next Newcastle.

I will be bringing some Cochins to Newcastle - Mille Fleurs and Self-Blues (Lavenders). I am parting with a couple of my foundation Self-Blue hens and some of their "grandchildren", F2 youngsters that carry the Lavender gene and have great type. They would make a good start on a Self-Blue flock.

I don't blame him. Your flock is wonderful! I love my one EE girl. I have a young pullet growing now to keep her company but she is starting to bond with my Mille Fleur Cochins that she is penned with. The Lady I got "Miss America" from said she was a loner in her flock and it did take her a month to join my Mille group but now she is stealing Raspberries righ beside my rascal hen Little Pip.

Poco - I'm so jealous of your bees!

Mitzi - nice enclosure!

Agh. I had a great day until I finally got home this evening to find my tortoise had escaped his box and is no where to be found, the dane pulled a bunch of the tail feathers off of one of the turkeys, and the stupid cornish that I put in with the younger chickens tried to make a dinner out of my sick EE. He got stuck between the two barn doors last night and I found him this morning stuck on his back between them, so I thought I'd get DH to keep an eye on him to make sure he was okay, instead he left tons of bloody spots on the EE and a couple on one of the orps. So now I need to rehome the dane, nurse the poor EE and orp back to health, and hope and pray my tortoise reappears. I've had him for almost 10 years

oh what a great idea!! betcha he is telling everyone he's 'da man!'
My little Serama, Channing, got his own personal run today,it's 3'x10' (correction-2 1/2'x10'). He loves being outside when it's nice so now he can be out when I'm out there working in the yard and be safe in his own area. It's actually the walkway that leads into the Bantam Faverolles pen. It's surrounded on 3 sides by pens. Just a few more roof panels to put up and everyone will be shaded and protected from the rain back there. I just love this little bird :)
Going to catch up on a bazillion posts now!
