One of my 2 Silver Phoenix now has a red comb growing and black feathers coming out of his chest, talk about a late bloomer. What? Boys can just up and decide to be boys at 3 months of age???
NOT fair.
Somebody come here and tell him he can't do that. If these birds can't read the book on how to become pullets then I swear-I'm just not going to get any more birds.

I pulled several pieces of grass out of the swollen pullets eye-- hopefully it brings her some relief.

Sure hope thast ws the cause and the cure....

A friend sent me a message asking if I could take two goslings that her family bought for one of the children for Easter and the child can no longer keep them..... ummmm.....did I really say "Yes"?
Now...what food do goslings need? and do I need to get a tub for swimming?

We plan on dropping keets by Blanchard in the next hour or so. Then heading to OKC to look @ some prefab house options. The thought of customizing a prefab house seems much easier & cheaper than building from the ground up. Not 100% sold yet though.

We almost went that rout, and we were most impressed with Palm Harbor. They have some nice ones.

Finally finished my brooder this morning. Now it has proper doors for each section. (Made from refrigerator shelves, of course! Cause that's the way I roll!

) Also hit Harbor Freight and Tools for their big tent sale this weekend and got a better tarp to catch the litter. I decided to keep the beehive set up with pine shavings in it for a place my broodies can take a poop walk every day. Y'all have a good weekend. Can't wait till NEOCS!

Well Guy Rose Auction had a lot of birds and rabbits today, prices were reasonable to lower I thought .

I sold a bunch of pigeons and a couple cages and some cage bird stuff I had around here and come out pretty good, I do end up with more money at the pay window when I don't buy anything!!!

It's windy here! i want to go to Blanchard but the funds are low, have bills to pay so it's a no go!!!

I was outside this morning and kept hearing a hen doing her egg song but couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Finally found her. Apparently one of my olive eggers decided to fly the coop and lay her first egg under the big pine tree. Go figure. Give em a nice coop and nice nesting box and then they lay somewhere else. Reminds me of when my boys were little and we would buy them gifts and they would lay the gift to the side so they could play with the box.
