***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Just heard from a friend that lives near Claremore. She has a nice cabinet incubator and hatcher to sell. I don't know what she wants for them but I will find out. I need the hatcher but its not in the budget right now.
ya I'm going to get the new GQF 1502 come tax time, i cant wait for that one. right now i have a older GQF cabinet, but ya for sure let us more info on the bators when u know pics will be good to if u can swing that. maybe she will give you a commission? lol

One of my 2 Silver Phoenix now has a red comb growing and black feathers coming out of his chest, talk about a late bloomer. What? Boys can just up and decide to be boys at 3 months of age???
NOT fair.
Somebody come here and tell him he can't do that. If these birds can't read the book on how to become pullets then I swear-I'm just not going to get any more birds.
I'll show them

Buster...I've not been in a while, but this spring Jerry tried to get the big birds started by 7.

Ok I got a want I'm looking for...does anyone have true ameraucana blue wheaten hens? I need some new blood. PM me tell me what you got

I am canning the first thing ever on my own (not as a girl helping my Gma) anyway it is pickled green beans and I am water bath canning them since I don't have a pressure canner, and the green beans in the garden are going to town!!!! They aren't Gary's favorite veggie so I'm hoping he likes them better pickled.
I have an old Burpee Aristocrate Cooker with the rack, I have never used it so i don't know if the guage works and the seal seems a littlee hard. I don't know how old it is, It says it's made by the Burpee can sealer company. It's been sitting in my calinet for a few years, I may be willing to let it go.

Processed 30 meat birds this morning.

You know, I used to worry about hurting the other birds feelings, so I would always do the deed out of their sight. Now my layers and upcoming layers are my clean up crew, fighting over every little piece that falls off the processing table.

Gruesome little creatures.

Is she orange? There's an orange cats are crazy theory...............
haha I've heard that before, I've had a few orange cats before and there was only one that wasn't crazy :p but he died really young so maybe he just hadn't grown into his crazy.

My DH's brother has a big orange cat named tiger. He is just a scary as a tiger. You can't just pick him up. You have to let him crawl in your lap and your kinda scared to let him but more scared to try to shoo him away. Crazy orange cat. CRAZY freaks out without warning

We have a old male cat like that, not orange, but I know exactly what you're talking about! When he was young it was exactly that feeling or dread and no matter what you did it didn't end well for you! Fortunately he's mellowed out as he's aged, but sometimes he still gets that wild hair!

I talked to a vet friend of mine and she suggested maybe her incision is infected or healing uncomfortably. Pain makes critters act wierd. Hadn't thought about that. I brought her back in early this morning and she's acting fine, not sure what the deal was.

Buster the last Blanchard sale went pretty fast-- but there was still LOTS of birds when I left around 10. My chickens always are cleaning up behind us when we butcher-- they even chase the feathers from the plucker! They seriously dont seem to care that lunch used to be one of their friends. I tried to keep them away but they insist on being near by to clean up!

I pulled several pieces of grass out of the swollen pullets eye-- hopefully it brings her some relief.

We plan on dropping keets by Blanchard in the next hour or so. Then heading to OKC to look @ some prefab house options. The thought of customizing a prefab house seems much easier & cheaper than building from the ground up. Not 100% sold yet though.
