***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Afternoon my feathered friend tenders!!! Do or have any of you attended a huge auction in Pryor on the first Saturday of each month. Considering going, hear there is lots of stuff there including chickens and such! Lynn

People sell chickens? Who? I want to learn more..

It's too late, Rabbits or Chickens in general aren't the gateway drug but, Cochins on the other hand are completely covered in feathers...
Now you see the real connection to other furry addictions like bunnies or guinea pigs

So we can blame MJ for that one.. Good deal..

Evening all. Been tending to the garden today so haven't been on much. Got some Naked Necks that Ellie Mae hatched yesterday. They are Columbian NNs. SO stinkin cute. Will try to take pics tomorrow. mommapoppybee and I decided they reminded us of the vultures off of the Jungle book so their names are Buzzie, Flaps, Dizzy and Ziggy. The one named Buzzie has a little strip of feathers down the back of its head. Found out today that the Blue Frizzle Cochin Bantams I got at NEOCS are both cockerels. They are starting to get some red wattles. :( Gonna have to figure out which one to keep and which one is going to have to go up for sale.

Well spent the day outside after church (and a short nap). Got 6 young birds rehomed to some new chick addicted kids, lol. Plus a man at church wants a few of my free range roosters for his yard to eat bugs. Can't wait for him to pick them up. He is going to take a few of the barred rock roos since I have sooooo many!

Anyone looking for a good CW roo? Hubby got the trio at POOPS and we ended up with two roos. I have been thinking two were roos for a few weeks but today they started at each other so I need to get one a new home. I don't want them hurting each other but I don't want to kick one out to free range either since they are such beautiful birds I would cry if something got the roo I turned loose.

Hubby laid out the plans for the new pens these will be the final new pens added. (okay so I can dream lol). These new pens will be 20x20 and will be for my new sexlink breeders. Hubby just have to make a trip to his cousins house to pick up the fence panels.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Yes, but you are guilty of pushing that LF Buff hen on me, and now I have a giant roo too and 3 chicks so far.
Yeah.. like I really twisted your arm..

Hey, have you ever thought about Blue rosecombs? They are bantams..

Hang on to both til spring the columbian color is slow to develop and finsh, as well as the wyandotte body choosing too early can be a problem..

Run, MJ, RUN!!! Oh heck what am I saying if you get them that means they won't be at his house when Nathaneal goes over there next! It was all I could do to keep him from bring any OEGB home last night from auction!

Good to know, I guess I will edit that on the last pen to build, lol. We do have a friend that is giving us 2 4x4 pens he used to keep game roosters in. I guess one of those will be for the spare CW roo.
