***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Just another reminder about the youth show benefit auction on Saturday. Who is taking what for donations? and what else are you taking?
I will be bringing 1 trio of Black Rosecomb, 1 Trio of BB Red Roseconb, 1 Trio of Silver Blue OEGB, 1 Trio of Birchen OEGB and all the Silver Blue and Birchen eggs layed this week. as a donation. I will likely be taking a trio of Black Rosecombs I have over $600 tied up in, they are some very nice birds and would make a great addition to anyones show string for the fall, or a great start for a youngster wanting to show something.

Hi everyone! Enjoy seeing all the pictures of the flowers and beautiful chickens! I had chicks hatch this weekend! They are the cutest puffballs! I have some LF Cochins, Blue Marans, and Lavender Orpingtons. The percentage rate was awful, but who cares when you see these cuties!

You might check on the Heritage thread under the Breeds section. Bob could probably point you to a good breeder.

My daughter snapped a few pictures of the chickens when she was here for Mother's Day. Thought I'd share
This Big Blue and Highstepper ...even in molt they look pretty good

My neighbor has Blue Marans. Think they might be my next birds. I have had all Cochins for 4 years but got Wheaten Ameraucanas last year and really like their beards and blue eggs. Now the Marans are getting too irresistible. I can't forget my one Showgirl, Ermeralda, she hangs out with my Buff Cochins.

Don't know why I am thinking about getting an incubator. I have another Cochin girl going broody. That makes 9 sitting on eggs now. On the bright side my first girl to sit on eggs this year is finally laying again. She hatched 3 chicks on St. Patrick's day.

I just picked up some Blue Cuckoo (project birds) and Blue Wheaton Marans yesterday. I hope they turn out well. The Cuckoos need work on the barring but they are pretty birds. I think I am going to try and help this project along. I am going to bring some birds to Newcastle to make room for them. Too many birds too fast. Having trouble keeping up lol. I will take some pictures of these marans when they feather out a little more and show them to Jack to get his opinion. I also got a mystery maran chick for free. it has chipmunk markings so it should be interesting.
