Doc is adapting... He is working at a new job today... I thank the Boss that offered him the position... Such a wonderful person.... Hoping it works out and keeps him busy..

No new pens yet, but really dont have birds that need them... I have Dominiques, Americauna, Naked Necks, Buff Brahmas, and a grow out pen full. Guineas and ducks are free ranging.

Good morning everyone. It looks like it will be windy as heck this day but I done care. I have eggs in the incubator that are hatching left and right. 1 day early, but hatching none the less.

Hello everyone, I am am back after a week at Falls Creek. Still tired but then I am usually tired anyway.
It was hot, but I spent most of the time indoors except when I was cooking on the grill.
Thursday I started manning the grill about 10 a.m. and finished at 5:30. I had a break in the middle for about an hour and a half when I had to make a run into to town to get more meat.
I missed my friends here. I hope everyone is doing well. I have to catch up on eight days of posts and see what has been happening.
I had a lady taking care of my chickens while I was gone and she did a great job. I didn't lose any. Then after I got home on Saturday, I had to go to Henryetta to pick up my son. I fed and watered everything well but when I got back yesterday I had lost five half grown birds.
Not sure if it was from the heat or if they piled on at night. Glad it happened on my shift and not my helper's.
Well I have to acclimate myself back into home life so I better get after things.
Later folks,

Yep..weatherman here in the southeast has issued a "small dog" advisory because of the wind. Hope we don't get a fire because it will really spread in this wind.

Morning Monty! Our church was at Falls Creel last week too. I didn't get to go this year but Grace was there. To bad you didn't see her. My wife and I watched the evening services over the internet. It almost like being there. (well except there were only two of us in the room at the time)

Not sure if this topic has been covered here or not, if so, sorry

Where can I buy food grade DE locally? Not only do I want to use it with my chickens, but we have a flea infestation problem that has made it's way onto my indoor cats. I can't get control of the irritating little boogers no matter what I use.

Thanks,
Lori

I wish I had seen Grace, I didn't go out much except to go to morning and evening services. The speaker this week was very good. He relates well with the kids. I liked him a lot so I guess I must be a kid too. I am gonna start watching some service on the internet too. Last year when i tried I would lose the feed about halfway through.
They have added a lot of new rec stuff but I didn't ever make it down there. When I stepped out and the heat hit me I just turned around and went back inside.
I figure napping in better tham melting int he afternoons.
When is Grace's big day? I know you must have mixed emotions about that.

My turkeys have now moved up town. I put a child's size swimming pool in their pen.
My new turkey are spending most of their time on the raised patio of their pen. They have a roof over the top but screen on three sizes and are 3 foot off the ground with wire floor so it cooler there then any place.
