***OKIES in the BYC III ***

He hates being caged up. He crows at the other two roos constantly and when he hears the hens singing their egg song he really goes nuts. POOR GUY. He isn't eating good for me and I'm afraid he'll lose weight. He eats the dry better than the fermented, so maybe u should give me your fermented recipe. I havem't checked yet tonight to see if he ate much of the fermented. He does love haveing a roost in there and room to move aroumd.

I live in the Dewar/Henryett area. There are a lot of chickens around. probably just hiding. Is he looking for a place to park his camper? We have a concrete slabe that used to have elec, sewer and everything, but it was all taken out. When my daughter comes w/ hers we string an electic cord over. I don't know what you're ;looling for so let me know. We have a lot next door that the house has been torn down but all the water and elctric is still there to be set up again. We just don't use it. W have been fencing it litle by little and letting the goats eat the brush.

Cuteness overload. I need some NN Frizzles

Oh my goodness u have been busy. How did I miss all the newbies? I remember welcoming them.. I'm really getting a bad case of ICRS. Most all my geese let me hold them. There are a couple, but they'll come around. I AM STILL LOOKING FOR FEMALE GEESE. PEOPLE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF U KNOW WHERE I CAN GET SOME RESONABLE.Glad to read your posts. I love your hehehe.

CORAL-- Looks like another tiring day for you/ I hope everyone made a difference, and a good one .
I need to shut down and go back to bed/ I think I have another infection in the leg. Two year fighting this. As I've said before I'm grateful I still have it though(the leg. Not the infection)

I have an appt. w/ the wound Dr. on Thursday, but I think I'll call him tom. I won't go to emergency. Too many babies to take care off. They always hook me up to IV antibiotics. Guess they need more money. Ha ha.
Fingers crossed on your leg!

@hotcurltr he'll eat more when he's happier, and he won't be happy until he's out with a flock. He's definitely a flock-leader. Chickens actually get depressed when they're isolated, which would lead to a drop in appetite. He can survive the temporary isolation you have to practice for good bio-security.

Although I like to think maybe the poor guy misses me. :(

Did I catch somewhere that POOPS is being scheduled?

We have a meeting location with shady trees and lots of space (custom coop display lot in Tahlaquah).  Porta Potties will be set up so nobody has to go hunting for a restroom.  June 14th, the second Saturday in June, is the date.

I now have two babies in the hatcher.  One is not a NN :barnie .  I know these are project eggs, but the seller indicated that I'd get all NN chicks.  They will be moved to a brooder tonight.  Looks like more may hatch, so I can't risk compromising the humidity level by opening the hatcher yet.

Put me in for POOPS on that date.
The NN gene is dominant, she must have non-NN's mixed in the group she sent the eggs from. Otherwise there's no way you'd get non-NN's.

Here are some of the silkies for sale! I don't know much about silkie colors, but I see blue, black, buff, white, porcelain (I think), and partridge (maybe blue partridge I'm not sure). I have about 30-ish of them, $6 each or 3 for $15.

Some of the chicks have an extra toe or two- here's one that you can see a sixth toe on one foot. I know when I was pulling them out of the incubator I saw one with seven toes on one foot but I can't find it now in the brooder!

One NN from the dark, dark eggs hatched while I was in OKC today. 50 teachers and three administrators from our district went to the education rally at the Capitol. 25,000 people were in attendance. We froze in the morning and broiled in the afternoon. I do NOT miss riding on school busses. Next time we have an event like this, I'll drive myself. Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck!

Captain America was there. He was pointing at me to come have a picture taken with him. I was behind the camera, though. I'm happier that way.

And in we go. After the rally, teachers and administrators went into the Capitol building to visit with our representatives. Long lines. Grouchy faces on those who tend to vote against education. Glad hands and big smiles from those who vote for education. I hope we made a difference.
I hope you made a difference too! Our district didn't release school, and with five kiddos, I never have any spare sick days in the spring, so I couldn't go. My heart was with you all though. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk

Well, if there were two NN parents that each had bowties in other words Nn Nn, then chicks could be NN or Nn or nn. But I agree, the sell should have not 'guarenteed' unless there was a homozygous NN as a parent. Plus, fence jumpers are fence jumpers.

we are planning to attend too. Will bring food items and help with the raffle. I have extra fold up chairs and extension cords.....

As for the non-NNs...my eggs collected from the pen 5 Cochins periodically have hatched a full Wyandotte chick. A determined hen has gone over the fence to lay her egg in the purebred pen.

Cute hatch! Just asking...Do you use snippers to cut the irregular toe bumps on the regular toes like you would dew claws on a puppy?
