***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Yes, looks like it but it doesn't look too bad. I can't recall off the top of my head the "sugar wrap" method but that's what I'd use at this point (my 2¢). Someone will chime in about the sugar method.
@ashtree I keep forgetting to ask you-how is the Silkie you did bumblefoot surgery on??
Here's my 3 new ducks. A Mallard pair and a Khaki Campbell hen, 4 months old. Never had ducks! I'm really excited about building them a pond. We had a 6x12 Goldfish pond 15 yrs ago and i've always wanted another pond.

Actually I noticed her limping more this morning. Blah. Thought it was healing nicely but it looks like I may have missed some :( ill try to get pictures tonight. Instead of the yellow stuff that was on the sole of her foot pre surgery it looks black, like dirt, only her skin. Maybe it's normal? But should she still be limping? And thanks for asking, I've been meaning to mention it but today was crazy busy for me. Love the ducks!

I'm worried for my Van Helsing. Poor boy had something last week that I thought might be a headbump or a blow from Orlando, he couldn't control his neck, seemed disoriented, and his legs weren't working. I brought him inside and the next day he was much better, standing up and not flopping his head around, and by the day after that he seemed just fine. The next day I put him back in his pen. Yesterday, two days later, he was face down in the dirt and not moving, his comb is so pale, almost white. I feel like he may be nearing the end of his days.

I'm just not sure what to do with him. He's been wormed and dusted. Currently he's inside in a tub. His poo looks normal. He's never liked boiled eggs, so he's getting yogurt and crumble. Have you guys ever seen anything like this?

Poor baby. His little face is so expressive.

Awe, poor guy. It is a really bad sign how pale his comb and wattles are. I'm so sorry.

Being that he recovered and then relapsed when you put him back in the pen, is there anything he could have gotten in to? I know you wouldn't intentionally leave anything poisonous out- but maybe there is a pile of old feed somewhere that has gone off? The "floppy neck" and difficulty walking description and general behavior reminds me of when some of my birds got into some bad feed. Some recovered just fine with some TLC in a quarantine pen- some didn't.

Poor little guy. I'm so sorry. I have no clue what's going on but his little face looks so sad. :( I hope youre able to figure out what's going on and he bounces back.

Pale comb / wattles say anemia of some kind to me. Blue is poor O2 delivery, but pale is not enough volume of blood. But have no clue as to what specifically could be wrong or how to fix it.
