***OKIES in the BYC III ***

My broody hen isn't broody anymore, but now she has trouble walking and staying balanced. There are no apparent leg injuries. I looked at her feet, but don't know if they are swollen. She's moving around some, albeit clumsily. I put some antibiotics in their water. BTW, how long can I leave water w/ antibiotics in it out?
i would give her some electrolites, maybe some scrambled eggs- broodiness is hard on them-

i am new to backyard chickens and want to add some different breeds to my run. Any swap meets or auctions coming up soon in the area? or does anyone have any fertile eggs that they want to sell? i am looking for some rocks, easter eggers, speckled sussexs, brahmas, marans, dorkings, golden spangled hamburgs, or campines!?!?!

If you are interested I am selling some of my Buff Rock and Light Brahma girls. They are two months old, came from the Murray McMurray hatchery, and have had their Marek vaccination and have been fed medicated feed since I got them. They have also been exposed to dirt while being fed the feed. I'm a first time chicken mom and well, they were so tiny to start with and now I believe I have too many for the space I have :)

I'm in the Agra/Tryon area.

Sorry to all the folks with poison ivy - it is a horrid thing to have! There is a vaccine you can get (just ask your doctor about it) to help prevent problems for those severely allergic. My niece gets one every spring.

Does anyone know of any swaps going on in the Stillwater area? Or somewhere within a half hours drive in either direction? I am going to have to find new homes for up to 10 of my girls.

How many Light Brahmas and how many Rocks? All girls? I'll take all 10 of them. How far are you from Pops on Rt 66? I definitely want the Light brahmas really super bad. If someone else wants the Rocks that's ok although i'd love to have them all.

Oh Lord, you are doing me a huge favor!!! Thank you :) I'm not all that far from Pops, maybe 30-40 minutes and know exactly how to get there :) Yes, I'm 99.9% certain they are all females. If any turn out not to be I would happily take it back. Shoulda bought a roo in that breed and don't know why I didn't!

When would you want to take possession of them? I can deliver them any time!

So Im google image searching chicken runs, just cause its almost midnight and I should be sleeping

But I swear all I'm finding are these beautiful lush gardens with chickens lightly grazing through them. Whats up??? My girls have free range over their compost piles and we bring in LOTS of organic veggies and fruits (my husband has the grocery store hook up) but theres no grass except what we pull or grow for them (wheatgrass) They have shade from trees and there are some sunflowers that got taller faster than them, but no pretty grass for them to run on.

Am I doing something wrong? According to space calculations I have more than enough room for them all. Also any evergreen recommendations for my silkie run? We have 2 fruit trees back there, and might just do another one, but was thinking an evergreen bush might be nice. Of course Im planning to plant something big enough that it has a chance to survive.
