Slow soaking 2.5 inches so far. Glad to get it!
Moved a pen of 4 week old chicks and Mandy in to the barn this morning. Water was standing on the ground in most of the pen and they were getting wet running thru the puddles. Cooler temperatures make for a chilled wet chick. The Bantams were up in the roost bars and very dry, so I left them there. Thanks to a metal roof and some sections of 1/8 inch thick plastic, the food is dry and clean water is easily assessable.
Going to spend the night with the two little grandsons tonight, so will double check all feeders before I leave. Don't know for sure what tomorrow holds.
Roger is with his sister at the hospital today. The BIL was moved out of ICU for two days, but now after a rough night has pneumonia and may be moved back to ICU. Plans yesterday were to move him to a nursing home today for the next 2.5 weeks for the rest of his recovery before possibly going home. I was there with her yesterday...he was in and out all day...stroke, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, nearly blind, severe heart issues, swollen joints and detox from years of daily alcohol consumption are all playing havoc on his 75 year old body.
I think the SIL is in shock and wrapping her mind around the picture of his future are really hard for her. He has gone down hill really fast these past 5 days.
She doesn't drink at all and didn't realize his drinking was such a health issue. He would drink after she went to bed. They married as young teenagers, had two special needs children, divorced, married others, had families, and then remarried 2 years ago after both lost spouses. Such a sweet lady! She is a devoted care-giver.
Good thoughts and prayers would be appreciated.
