***OKIES in the BYC III ***

I have two white showgirls, but am wondering if they might both be roos ... at 7weeks they are both sparring a lot!
you need to post pics we can give you some guesses- sparring is normal no matter boys or girls

@Sagetown those are some wonderful photos! when we were in Hawaii the gekkos were on the walls in the houses, really cute little guys

We had duck tonight! Tried roasted, fried, crockpot, and steak. Crockpot and steak were by far the best. Roasted with veggies was too dry, and fried was too tough. But the other two were YUMMY! Crockpot was my favorite, absolutely fell apart with a fork. No seasonings required except salt and pepper! The kids and I polished off an entire breast while we waited for the potatoes and gravy to finish cooking.

When I was in Vietnam we kept gekko like lizards in our living quarters too. Roaches and mosquitoes were terrible. We got used to their late night screams, but their LiL surprises never seemed to fail to startle us. Like; hiding in your boot, or behind a bar of soap in the shower, as if we didn't have enough to keep us on edge.

I like to cube or cut strips of the breast, marinate in an Italian dressing for 4-6 hrs wrap in bacon then grill. It works well with goose too.

those may have been house geckos like my little guy they don't get very big and like to live near or in houses.

We had a registered 22 month old Angus bull kick the bucket yesterday while we were at hubby's doctor appointment in OKC. His pen buddies that spent all summer with him apparently got riled up more than the typical sparing between teenagers. Not a pleasant surprise especially since we had taken a great unregistered 3 year old Angus bull to market just the day before that brought $2400.
Fortunately we have kept good bulls coming up thru the ranks and will have registered bulls old enough to help cover the herd in the spring. Just hated to lose this one.

Then this morning found a pile of feathers floating around the front of the barn....a hawk must have taken one of the little juveniles that was still slipping out thru the chain link to free range at dawn before we opened the pens. I'm still trying to figure out which one of the young cockerels it was.

Therapy has been knocking my socks off. Came home this afternoon and took a two hour nap. Hubby had fed and watered all the birds for me...such a sweet man!
ooo, sorry to hear about the bull, and the chicken. Not only was the bull $$$ but potential genetics. Glad at least you have some up and comers to help compensate for that.

The worst ones in my experience were the little skeletons found under the tracks of the sliding closet doors...the side that is never opened ever...

Well drat, I was really looking forward to seeing you there! I'm afraid to say I won't be able to go Saturday. I'm having a propane tank delivered, and I have to set up a coop for Juliette and the littles, because the one they're in now doesn't give them a lot of wind coverage.

I wish I could come over. I'd bring my chainsaw and help with the tree. Maybe we can get together one night during the week or next weekend?
A girls' night chainsaw party sounds like a blast. I need to get the big pieces cut and stacked today, though. If I have any more trees give up the ghost, I'll keep your suggestion in mind. It's always easier to get a big job done when you have lots of hands working.
