***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Ok I have a dumb question. Anyone on here interested in trading for cloth diapers? I have a lot of stuff I need to move out of the spare bedroom and I want them to go to someone who will use them. I just wasn't sure if trading them on a chicken forum made much sense lol. If it is a crazy idea that is ok I will probably try to sell them on Craigslist to make room. We are expecting company soon and I need to clean out that room

I haven't seen the FB info, I would think if they were actually rationing eggs it would be on the news though. W/ the number of birds that have had to be killed in major egg centers it is probably coming, at least sky high prices anyway.

Just googled and very legit news sources are reporting it so it looks true

Did anyone see the Facebook posting about a nationwide egg shortage? Apparently in Texas they are rationing eggs is this another Facebook hoax?

I read a couple of weeks ago that they had to destroy a few million chickens because the bird flu was found in their operation. This was in the Midwest. There isn't a shortage now but there could be later on in the year.

MaryJo the showgirls I got from you are amazing!! They are the most personable and friendly chicks.

Didn't someone on here call the showgirls with no bow ties strippers? I have been playing with names for the showgirls and if one is a boy I plan on naming him Magic Mike

Not chicken related but the?is it ok to use vinegar with mother on your dog.nothing seems to be working on ticks and fleas this year seen a home remedy, apple cider vinegar with mother water salt baking soda.

I love them too. Thank you again, Jeansrie. I'm sure I will be telling you that again. Some of mine are just getting feathers growing in their crest and the look so funny and cute.
As you can see, I change my Avitar to a pic of one of my hens, Ezmeralda. She came from Betsy.

Muesky made a spray with a combination of oils that is helping her dogs and cats, besides the traditional Frontline alternated with Advantage. I think some of the oils are rosemary and lavender plus others. I will ask her.
She had it on her puppy, Possum, when she brought him to Newcastle auction. He smelled good.
I just know we will get fleas in the house this year.

Our one indoor/outdoor cat and our dog are sure to share them. When i am outside I am already getting bitten by mosquitos even though I am using Deep Woods Off. Also getting bitten by biting flies, ouch!

I would like Muesky's recipe too!

Last night we got 3 inches of rain!!!!! Red and Gracie both spent the night on the bed with me. Red was all over the place...first at the head of the bed, then under the covers, too hot, moved to the head of the bed, under my pillow.....and he shook almost all night. Gracie, now deaf, just snoozed at my feet. Poor Roger slept in his recliner and never knew it was storming.

Yesterday while cleaning the brooder room, I put one of the broody hens in a wall cage/ Then at 10 pm I took her 13 chicks that hatched the other day. She about ate my hand as I was putting chicks under her. She is doing great with them. Im taking her 7 more this morning.
One of my Cochin hens is sitting tight on an empty nest in the outside Cochin pen. I'm considering taking some to her.

One of our young pheasants escaped from the inside pen and then out thru the brooder room a couple of days ago. Phantom is seen around the yard and garden, but can't be caught. CJarvis warned me that if one escaped you just cant catch them....he was right!

I moved 17 juveniles out of the barn to the juvenile pen. Put 9 young birds on the floor in the brooder room and put 30 two week old chicks in the brooder room cages. Then I moved 20 quail to the big brooder in the hot tub room and moved chicks to the hen in the barn. Whew!

Hope everyone has a great Saturday planned.
