***OKIES in the BYC III ***

American Poultry Assoc. has standards in the book of standards for Guineas right after the turkey standards in the back of book. With that being said, any show you go to that uses the APA standard book and breeds should allow the showing of them.

I found a place in Arapaho, looks like the move is a go.

Wow...How soon are you moving? Congratulations. Being close to your parents will make it easier to help them.

Nephew manages that flooring company in OKC that is burning this morning... started in the warehouse...horrible fire...one fireman hurt.

There are several shows within a 2-3 hr drive, what kind of help do you need? Or do you need to borrow some birds?

Well I was wondering about prep to get ready for a show. Like what to feed and where to keep the feather legged birds so they don't tear those feathers up and if you bathe them what do you use? And any other before stuff as well as how it works when you get there.
That said, borrowing birds would be great! I've got a couple that I'd like to take just to see how it goes but borrowing some that will actually show could make the difference in the whole experience

It would be very bad if the predators found the greenhouse. SplitSocket has helped me retrofit it (partly done) for grow out pens, so I now have two dozen nice young silkies in it, as well as two nice roosters on the floor. Put a small air conditioner in there as well. Much different from when you were here. All I know is to strengthen walls and roofs and hope to catch enough the others will stay away. Had no attack last night, and the bait was still in both traps this morning.

We have two young dogs--about a year old. The female, Shiloh, is a German Shepherd mix, and the male, Buddy, is a miniature Sheltie. Both patrol the FRONT yard (we have two acres with quite a bit of woods), as one neighbor does a lot of partying and the loose dogs come around the front. They have been quite excited about the trapped raccoons, but almost ignore the trapped possums. They seem to be patrolling the back more now, so maybe that'll help.
