Carl, that's the black that was in with these 2 blues? Yea, they're some PUFFY butts lol! You reach down to pick them up thinking they're going to weigh as much as a sack of chicken feed and it's all a huge pillow in there

Yeah, I sent the one that had her tail for Madison to show this fall and breed from come spring, she will do her very well. I am quite happy to know these birds have gone to homes that will appreciate them.
How are your two doing? is one of them laying? I had been getting 2 eggs a day and since you picked up those two it dropped to 1, I know that one going to Madison was laying the pullet eggs so now I have to wait for the two remaining hens to decide it has cooled back off enough.

That is Chloe, she is yours...! Sure you don't want the others? The black one is a pullet, the other two have been having crowing practice..
The black's a little girl, too? You bet I'll take her! How old are they, they'll fit right in with my Cochin babies!
Much as I hate to I have to pass on the boys. I'm up to my ears in Silkie boys because I can't bear to part with them

As between the Hovabator foam incubators and the Little Giant foam incubators, I never had much luck with the Little Giants. I don't think they hold the temperature as well as the Hovabators. I like using both a Sportsman style incubator and the Hovabators. The combination gives me more options with staggered hatches.

I doubt that grass fire smoke will affect them in any negeative way,
I do know that Hickory or Pecan has a very positive affect on flavor though..

I got an egg yesterday. I figured it may take them a week or so to get going because they're in a new place. They do love the fan. They lay smack in front of it with their faces pointing into the breeze lol They're doing real well. They're not lap chickens yet but I informed them that in time they will be
They're real curious about me, it won't take long. Oh, the little black Cochin pullet I got from you jumped right up into my lap of her own free will tonight. I like to just let them take their time to get used to me. She likes me!

I second that-thanks Robin! It doesn't have to be all the way to Guthrie, I'll do a good share of the driving if someone could help. I'll name the little black pullet after you
