***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Nana how often are they doing sleep studies? Are they just checking to see if the surgery is still providing all the beniftis? The girls both snapped turkey pics with their phones. I can count over 70 turkeys. I think it is pretty amazing. I was searching for info on the size of flocks & from what I read 50 seems to be the cut off. I have always seen some turkeys in this spot, but was amazing to see so many.

OKracefan, would love for someone to be able to score one a doe, the dogs chased them off this AM. We don't have a good spot for hunting on our place, the front is pretty open & cattle running on both sides. DH & DD hunt on the neighbors 300 acres.
WOW that is alot of thanksgiving dinners!!! LOL I can't fathom that many. There is a wild flock of turkeys about 4 miles up the road from us but I never see more than 10-15 of them and usually it is more like 6-8 at a time are out.

This may be the chicks mom, she is the only one I have w/ blue

Christina, he had an overnight oxymetry test last week that indicated his oxygen levels were dropping below 80% for long periods at night and no evidence of rem sleep. This sleep study will let us know more details, but his sleep apnea is back where it was before all the surgeries. Most likely will go back on his cpap at night. He had a sleep study just before they pulled out his trach tube last year that was really good. He was really doing well..at least so we thought.
bummer. A good night's sleep is priceless.

Still getting mist...think we have about 1/4 for the two days, but will enjoy any little bit we get.
Hubby is home from tests and is out setting out hay and feeding cattle.

My new tabletop Hovabator should arrive today.

I put 18 eggs (12/31 - 1/3) under three broodie hens two days ago. I will bring part or all of those in for the incubator. I may leave a few eggs under each hen because I want them to help brood chicks that will be hatching on the 20. Of course will need to sterilize the outside of those eggs with a mist of Oxine dilution before they go in the incubator after being under a broodie....don't need to start any bacteria in the new bator.

Temps today should be in the 60s...so may try to get outside in the garden for a little today. It will be onion planting time soon....

Not even one? I would say he wouldn't notice but they tend to stand out even in a group of 200.
You could keep a Showgirl in with your Silkies.

Drove myself to the dr today. First time driving in 6wks. The pic is with my phone but here is the awful flock of turkeys that are always playing in my road. I usually see a handful at a time. Today was the first time I ever saw this many. Also had 3 does in my front pasture today.

Glad you're back to driving. That can be maddening waiting on someone else to drive. Love this pic. I saw a flock of about 35 turkeys today on my way to work. They were in someone's front yard and driveway in the middle of a neighborhood. The funny part is that the families (or someone's) cat was laying right in the middle of the flock as if it was completely normal.
Lol.
