I just love my Easter Eggers. I took a gamble and put 12 of my 2 day old chicks in with my 3 week old EE's. The EE's were all laid out under the heat lamp. They just lifted their wings up and let the little chicks run under them to hide and keep warm. I have a lot of roos in this EE batch. Lord knows I don't need another rooster, but there are 3 that I am going to keep at least another couple of months to see how they feather in. I have heard a lot of people talk about how flighty their EE are, but mine are all very friendly and curious. It is one breed that I will always have in my flock.
I love EE/Ameraucanas almost as much as my Cochins. I have Wheatens. The girls are so pretty. Seems their personalities vary a lot. My neighbor has 2 pens of blues and splashes and they are flighty when I feed them but they are used to him being around them in a scooter. Anyone coming in their pens that is taller spooks them. My birds are use to my 60lb. dog but get spooked when they see my neighbor's 4 lb. Pomeranians!
