***OKIES in the BYC III ***

That's a great idea. I found some at the farm store a couple of weeks ago on clearance but I didn't buy them. Next time I will just to have on hand.

I bought a big box of them at Sam's. I always take a couple of packs with me to the auction in case I buy a box or two of baby chicks. Keeps them warm and I can stay for the rest of the auction.

Hello all! I know there is a poultry auction in Stilwell, OK this Friday, March 1, I was wondering if there was any BYC-ers that were going to be there?

Hey I see they are starting a new swap over in Adair County. Not far from Joe's place and not far from my place back there! Hope it takes ahold good and gets big by the time I get moved back ther( I'm still holding out hope!lol) I'm sure Joe can help anyone that needs info on it.
Lots of rain here in the last 24 hours. Getting colder now. I actually noticed several trees that are way budded out here! I was really surprised how far along they were.
Had to take the wife to the Dr. this afternoon, the sniffles turned into bhroncitis.
My game hens are laying good now. Can't wait till they go to setting, although I hope its not until after we move! I am wanting to get some Icelandic eggs and put under them. I sure like that breed and regret getting rid of the ones I had.
Good luck on the mare tonight Donnie! You need to find a horse whisperer!

Love baby chicks!
How is the mare doing?

We had two new calves this storm. Looks like four more cows are bagging up and getting soft in the butt.
Two broodie hens in the layer room and one in the Wyandotte pen. I have one hen to move to the floor with her chicks and then will clean up cages for the next round. Haven't decided if I will let the broodies hatch or just put them in a cage with some babies.
Hubby has a doctor appointment in the city so will stop by the farmer's market for some broccoli and cabbage plants. Everything else I'm starting from seed this year...tomatoes(10 varieties), peppers (7 varieties), lettuces, Pak Choi, herbs. Need to finish getting some beds cleaned out so I can plant peas, onions, potatoes, spinach and carrots as well as more lettuces, collards, mustard, turnips and radishes. This week will go fast and it looks like early next week will be warmer.

and i am seriously looking like the little guy above , im about to take me a nap since ive been up for 30 hours now , somoene elses turn to watch , my brain is dead
Donnie, do you have your mare online anywhere like Marestare? If so I would be happy to keep an eye on her while you nap.
When my mare foaled I had been up for 45 hours in a row and was exhausted. Woke my husband to keep an eye on her because she just had to go soon but I needed a nap. He let her out of her stall (where there was an internet camera and hundreds of people watching) and started moving some hay on the tractor, decided to run down the road to load up more hay and when he came back she was laying in the pasture with the filly behind her. They are sneaky sneaky that way. Also proves if you want it done right do it yourself lol.
