***OKIES in the BYC III ***

NanaKat, I named you blue pullet Lola and she has grown a lot. She cheeps constantly and sleeps next to my little Mille Fleur trio in the next cage. As soon as the weather makes up its mind they will all go out together. pics coming soon.

Nana-- Taron saw the bird in your flock & got excited about seeing them at the Newcastle sale soon.

I broke a chicken rule today. Had 2 new roos in a quarantine pen. For the whole week a lonely roo from my flock has been dust bathing & staying outside the quarantine pen. Today I opened the door & let him in with the other roos. I just felt so bad watching him visit the pen everyday, poor roo doesn't have any ladies of his own. He is now enjoying the bachelor pen.
Still watching Bambi close. Poor girl got headbutted today & fell over. So thankful I saw it all happen because she couldn't get back up! When you are too fat to roll over, maybe it is time to let those babies out...... Alexis & Taron worked together to get her turned over.

Loved the weather today!

I don't have the eggs, they are owed to me on a swap, was just going to have her send them to you. I wouldn't put shipped eggs under a broody, they require special care

what difference would it make a hen will keep eggs @ the right temp & turn em. some have told me they get better results the natural way. how many eggs & how much to ship to me?

Quote: The difference is....an egg that has been shipped 9 times out of 10 has damaged aircells...in order for them to reattach in the proper position they have to be sitting upright, for an amount of time, and sometimes the whole duration of the incubation and you can not get a broody hen to keep them sitting upright.

Clouds and thunder just showed up here!

I was walking around the yard earlier and thinking about POOPS. Would there be any problems if we held a Mini Poops at our house? We have an acre and a large shop with a bathroom in it. There is parking in our yard and the food could be in the shop. It wouldn't be anything special; just bring your own food for a potluck and chairs and stuff to swap or sell if you have some. I wouldn't care if only a couple people came. We could have a picnic and visit and talk about birds.

My birds are in a part of the yard that could be 50 yards from any birds that people brought. Whould that expose them to any possible problems?

It would probably have to be in May though.

I just really want to get together with anybody that loves chickens and celebrate.

The auctions are fun but they aren't really like a party.
