***OKIES in the BYC III ***

ok thanks MJ- was thinking cats are probably different- so get specific wormer for kittens... they are so darn cute! i am sure this one will be staying- a serious purr motor!

which mean i still have 3 to find homes for

Today I was getting composted horse poop from the manure pile for the new trees and found a HUGE grub...thicker and longer than my thumb. What kind of bug it makes I am not sure...Japanese beetle maybe? Anyway I took it to the bantam cochins and there was a four way tug of war over it...that grub looked like a bungee cord...boing boing boing boing!!!! I never knew a grub could look like that!

My newest chicks are almost a week old and sick of being in the brooder. Every time I check on them, someone has gotten out! Lol they LOVE their yogurt! They can't get enough of it and they get it everywhere lol
my new susux chick got out 2 day& It saw me & jump back in the brooder lol

I hate grubs in my flowers but I bet they are good in compost.

Rain coming today and looks like a rainy week. The garden and pastures will get quite a drink! And this should keep our temperatures more Spring like.

Treating one of my 14 week old CW cockerels saved back for symptoms of a vitamin deficiency...only one out of 30 juveniles in the pen. Giving him brewer's yeast, yogurt, honey, calf manna, applesauce mixed with his feed along with vitamins in his water and a daily shot of Tylan 50. He is improving. Only held back two cockerels for the breeding program so sure want him to pull thru.

Hubby's brother is coming home from the hospital today. He is still having trouble eating solid foods due to the effects of chemo, but the bypass has relieved his fatigue. Please continue to keep Ronnie in your prayers.

We are pulling in the young heifers today to sort for breeding. And to give the first of the wart shots. We have 5 of 20 with warts on their faces. It takes two shots three weeks apart. Running them thru the squeeze chute allows us to get up close and personal with each one. We will also Ivomec...need three hours of dry for it to soak in before the rain.

So sorry some have lost baby ducks and chicks...
Sounds like there have been some new additions from hatches and purchases...congrats on those.

Enjoy your day!

Good morning friends and neighbors and a happy hump day to all!

My little Pullet hatched off her peeps a little earlier than I figured....14 out of 15, not a bad %.

This is their Daddy.......

I hope y`all have a great day!

Nanakat, do you process any of the cattle for your own freezer? I'd like to find someone that would let me buy some cuts off of them.

Wanted to share some morning pics of flowers....
