that is a very hard decision. but i would talk with your husband and let him know your concerns, thoughts, and feelings. if it is something that he enjoys, and something you both enjoy together, then you already probably know your answer as you already stated. but those chickens might be the calm, the peace and the main form of normalicy (sp) you both have for a while. (as i do not know all about your daily lives) i hope that everything goes well and i pray for a speedy recovery and an easy one. any form of cancer is not fun. but from what i have been able to gather from this group is that everyone is here for everyone and we will always listen.I am struggling with a decision today. My husband had a mini stroke 3 weeks ago. On his 1 week check with his Primary after he got out of the hospital, he finally had the mole on his face I have been concerned about biopsied. Results came back today that it is melanoma. We go to the specialist next Thursday to see what all the options are. His Primary told him to make sure to take me to the appointment with him because we will have to make some difficult decisions that day.
The decision I am struggling with is whether or not to downsize my flock so he does not have to help me so much with chicken chores. But on the other hand, he likes helping and most nights we sit outside and watch the chickens while talking about our day. Just not sure what to do. He would tell me to not downsize to keep all of them because he knows how much I like the flock I have now, but I don't want him to be burdened. I guess I should wait until after his appointment next week and go from there.
Anyway, thanks for listening....
