thanks on the flea situation- the poor dog is in misery, ordered some stuff for her, did discover a bath in dawn kills fleas instantly- i have never seen this kind of infestation- i wonder if cats carry a different strain of flea?

well, no water at all now- sigh... at least it isn't as hot today for the chickens

You can also try table salt in the carpeted areas. Just sprinkle it around. It is supposed to dry them out. I tried this a couple of years ago when we got them in the house and it seemed to help. Feels like crap on bare feet though. You can google salt and fleas and get some more info.

If you use Advantage in the summer june-aug or maybe thru sept you will have no flea problems. That's what I have used on my Corgies and cats for years.....good luck!

That is what I do to, I only have to use it during summer and early fall and the rest of the year no fleas.

Neighbor had 3 extra tons of sand from installing a pool, so I spent the morning moving half of it into the coop. Do you think chickens feel appreciation?

I want to put sand in my pens. A lot of Cochin breeders us it in their pen because it is pretty easy on foot feathers.

LOL It's Saturday morning in Pryor. Not sure the start time, it used to be noon-3 PM but I think they switched it to 9-noon because of the heat. We went the very first time and haven't made it since, you will enjoy it though I'm sure! Food cart there and everything!
