[VIDEO][/VIDEO]I see OKCRacefan was looking for Silkies, that's what I came here to see if anyone had also-great minds think alike! I haven't gotten any more chicks for over a year now. Had a lone Bantam Faverolles hatch last May but he didn't make it, broke my heart all over again.
I've lost so dang many and it's so hard. But I find myself wanting more Silkies (girls!) I have a Silkie boy and 2 Silkie girls I got from Betsey almost 2 yrs ago but I'd sure like to find some more girls. Still have my Spitzhauben quad, love em' but scared to hatch their eggs because I have too many boys still here.
Coral, the Brabanter boy died in July, I have no earthly idea why. He'd always done so well and acted so good. The 2 girls are still here though.
Betsey, if you've got any girls you'd part with please let me know.

Hey, Kass! It does seem slow, doesn't it?? I didn't mean I'd lost many this year, actually just an odd one here and there this past year. It was a year ago that I'd lost so many that I had hatched that summer. For me that was very hard. Do you remember Lillith the huge Brown Red Cochin rooster? lol He has his own yard with Orloff girls, he's a very very sweet rooster and so pretty. Robin, the Blue bantam Cochin I got from you (Mattie) is still doing very well. All that girl wants to do is sit on eggs
I'm considering hatching maybe just a few Silkies, I so love how easy they are to take care of and their sweet personalities. My Cochins have such a hard time in the summer. I still have all my Orloffs, those are some tough birds! Common sense tells me to order a batch of pullets instead of hatching. Still deciding.
