Crappy yellowish pictures of my new kids - almost a week old now. I need to get much better lighting for this.

I think my birds should get sprouts too - Why do am I more careful about what my birds, and other pets, eat than what I eat? For Thanksgiving my birds are getting some fresh pumpkin.

My birds LOVE them. I only sprout for them through the winter, I don't know if you watched the video I posted but it shows how quick and easy it is, it really does not take more then 5 minutes a day.

I did the video in real time and even w/ all the explaining it was still only 5 minutes.

Wow! I don't get on here for 4-5 days and I miss a lot! Hope everyone is doing good with this cold! I am NOT enjoying it. at all. period. Our neighbor finally got rid of that darn rooster that was over acting as Romeo for my little hen. Now its just my four hens roaming the yard and they are so happy with no man around! My five LO babies (6 weeks old) are getting HUGE! The only boy is looking so handsome! I saw the post about giving away a LO cockerel and I wish I could take him! Jeansrie if you can't find him a home I know my neighbor kid would be MORE than happy to take him! He has a whole bunch of chickens but lost quite a few last week to another neighbor's dog. Only problem is that I don't think he can drive to pick him up and the distance between him and Tulsa is about 30 min. I will talk to him about it and see if he wants him for sure and get back to you if you wouldn't mind driving and maybe I can meet you to pick the baby up for him. Speaking of that dad-gum dog, it was in our other neighbor's yard today when my girls were out. I saw the darn thing run away and thought that it might have gotten them! Scared me so bad I could barely bring myself to go check because our hens go into their yard a lot. Luckily I found the first two in my yard and the other two were scratching around the neighbors front yard and acted like nothing was ever seen. Still scared me so bad! I can't believe how much I worried over CHICKENS! I think I have lost my ever-lovin' mind. Oh dear! I think I am becoming a chicken addict! I even found myself talking non stop about my hens to my mom the other day. She tried to change the subject and I just kept talking about them!!!

Oh bardies, they're adorable!

Y'all cross your fingers for me. I came home today with the intent of spending time with this poor brahma girl. I brought her in to watch tv with me, had her situated in my lap, and she started to seize. She had several terrible seizures while I was holding her. It was horrible, so horrible I actually considered the possibility of putting her down. My internet was out so Dusti started googling for me and talked me into thinking it was possibly wry neck. I have her double dosed on vitamins and she's currently eating yogurt and medicated starter crumble. With luck, the vitamins will make a difference for her.

i have a serama that did that for awhile,, i discovered that the less interaction with other chickens eased them up- in talking to other folks that noticed it, it was like over stimulation- its horible to hold them going through that- they told me to talk to him and rub his face, when he came out of it, he was oblivious to anything out of the norm
