Well poo....lost a pullet today.

:( Sorry. I've been very pleased with how my flocks have handled the cold, I did give a 75 watt bulb to the "babies" (about 6-12 weeks old) but the rest have been champs. Lost one to smothering, and one adult Cream Legbar for no reason- just dropped dead off the roost on one of the colder nights. Her breastbone was quite prominent so I think there was something else going on and the cold just did her in.

She was puffed up and pale faced on Saturday. She's been in the house since Saturday. Eating and drinking. But very quiet. Clear eyes. No respiratory. Clean vent. Pale faced and somewhat lethargic. Not sure what got her down. Everyone else is doing good. Even the bantams and younger pullets are doing great in an A frame pen covered with a tarp and plastic sheeting and lots of straw.

Wow miss a day of getting online and you guys leave a million pages to catch up on

Me and my daughter are soo excited about Saturday, I would love to meet you guys. What time do people usually get there? I'm trying to talk hubby into getting a room in Shawnee tomorrow night, but I don't think he is buying into it. We need a BYC table.

Do the hotels in Shawnee allow chickens in them, if so which ones?

Shawnee auction is great... As for hotels just do not tell them you have chickens...
