can you use oats? I think i saw a bag of whole oats at my attwoods the other day.I guess I'll have to make the trip out there, spent a lot of time looking at the Atwoods near me and they didn't have any![]()
I tried to post on the coop thread first and did not get any help. I know everyone here in the Okie thread is helpful, so I thought I'd try here. :0)
As for my neighborhood, it is a touchy situation. My direct neighbors do not care. I am sure they will love the free eggs (thanks for the advice!!) My extended neighbors care A LOT - at least some do. In our covenants it is stated we will not have chickens, however, since the covenants were never properly filed with the county they are actually null - but few people besides me know this because my hubby is the neighborhood president. SO, essentially, I can have them, but I don't want to complicate my life with a fight from the cranky lady across the street. (This is the same lady who complained about horse flies at her pool when her neighbor got a horse...)
In that case I would talk to the neighbors that don't have a problem with it, and forget Mrs. Cranky Pants for a bit!I tried to post on the coop thread first and did not get any help. I know everyone here in the Okie thread is helpful, so I thought I'd try here. :0)
