I had to assist a chick to hatch, it is fine, no bleeding the yolk sac was absorbed and everything, it just seems a little week, It moves around and peeps and raises it's head. Do you think it will be better in the morniing or is there something I need to give it.
give it either some sugar water or sav-a-chick, even a few drops of raw egg yolk can help, gives them a little extra boost
Quote: I'm glad he's doing better. He's probably still in shock and grateful he's still alive. I've been trying to catch up on reading, it seems dogs are really breaking our hearts.
As my hubby told u today, after last year, I'm grounded from any feed store that sells poultry unless he is with me. He wasn't exaggerating about how many I'd keep bringing home.\ last year. It really doen't matter though, because if I said oh honey I just have to have this one he'd roll his eyes but wouldn't stop me. He just likes to talk tough. Hopefully the girls will settle down. I felt so bad, that they thought I was desserting them. But after these crosses I got from NanKat I'm really excited to see buff cochin and orpington crosses. The girls will warm up. They probably feel they're cheating on Dwight. That u for being so hospitable. I really enjoyed our visit and seeing your birds. I know my girls will be in good hands,er, Sonny's girls will be in good hands. At least I didn't cry like a baby like Glenn said I would. Wish I could take pictures like you did. Mine ae too light. Maybe I need to adjust something.can't go near a feedstore this time of year....
Muesky--- I think it was u that asked about the call ducks. I don't know anything about them, but the muscovies love flys, especially the young ducklings.
they will settle down, would love to see pics of Dwight, i think anything crossed with cochins will be wonderful birds- will save the eggs for you... i need some muscovie hens, to eat the bugs, don't need drakes-
try a little stuffed animal with them too, they love to snuggle
