***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Oh Kas, they are all so gorgeous! I still want to buy a rooster when u re ready to sell. I love the red head , but hubby likes the darker skinned ones better. Are they the ones that have the FM gene?(U realize I have no idea what I'm talking about.) Why do yours look different than so many I've seen? Not that I have seen a lot of them. I would love to have one with a polish cross too. Showgirls are crossses w/ silkies, right? Actually I think it would be awesome to ty different crosses. Don't faint NanaKat, but I'd love a cross w/ one of my cw crosses.

Do u ever take any time for yourself? Where's the pics of Norman? It's Murphy's Law, that they come when you're not ready. I was thinking like Shelbydog, there has to be something that u could trap the darn thing. I need to take pics of the kids. Even though they have moved outside they are still spoiled. They come when called and I'll sit down on the ground and they are all over me knowing they are going to get treats. I might just have to keep all three roosters. How do u choose? I think I'm going to end up with too many roosters. It's been nice w/ just the two, and they seem to be fertilizing all the hens. Dwight Yoakum(was named when I bought him) is going to miss hiss Americaunas, ee'rs, but as sonn as we get a few dry days I'm gong to put them in w/ Floyd. He'll be so happy. The pen is finished except getting the rest of the top on. But my chicken #'s are growing. 34 in the brooder in the house, 14 about the same age the c/w's are and 8 new borns w/ mama. I have a beautiful purebred buff orp that I will donate to POOPS that is as tame and spoiled as the other kids. I don't know what else yet. I am afraid to offer chickens in case something happens, but I'm sure I'll have welsumer roosters, and partridge rock roosters since I bought them straight run. It's really late so I'd better try to go to bed. I wanted to have a lot of energy today so I drank coffeee all day and now I'm still wide awake

Thanks, mine look different b/c of the specific breeds that make up my mix.

Robin - I haven't forgotten you. Your boys are fine. Can I keep them until Saturday? My week is going to be hectic, and the only way to get them back to you is to make two trips into town in one day, or to arrive at your place at six a.m.
no problem - figured you were busy..

Looks like galahad is moving into old age- he is 7 this year - hard to believe isn't it Coral?? But he is having issues- problems pooping, straining, very little and is no urates at all- his comb is going dark- his appetite is good, and he still chases the girls- i am clueless other than old age?

Had to post a few pictures...
Someone asked about Norman...the kitchen calf. Well he is now officially 4 months old as of April 6...Growing and friendly

Spring has arrived on the farm..a new calf and a shot of part of the herd

Petey smells cubes... and decides to take one

Field companions ...driving Miss Gracie...Red and Gracie love their rides as we check out the pregnant cows 3 x a day.

Red watching over HIS April 2 chicks in the house brooder...Wyandotte and Buckeyes. He won't watch TV but loves to watch his babies.
When the chicks start peeping in the hatcher in the bathroom, he comes to tell me.

Up to my elbows in shrink wrapped chicks. Been assisting hatch all morning took a quick break, for them and me. 7 died before I could open them, several of those were late quitters. 1 died after assist, but it was in breach position and I couldn't find the beak in time. 5 are in excellent shape, the rest still in ICU in various stages / conditions.

Sorry to hear that Kassaundra. Were these your NN eggs?

My hatch has not started...about 8 hours late, but humidity is good and they were candled before going into the hatcher. Will wait a few more hours for some pips before I do anything.
