***OKIES in the BYC III ***

@adorkable you should reconsider breeding that boy, especially if yours have similar coloration. I have no dobt there are others who would love to have such beautiful birds.

Sadly my girls aren't porcelain color. I may try and find some eggs to hatch in the fall or next spring.

MJ, that's perfectly fine, whatever he wants. I've still got the ones I got from him a couple yrs ago at an auction and they've been wonderfully healthy and are so big!

Yes, big birds and such beautiful roos.
Do any of your hens lay pink eggs? One of Jack's hens lays a pink egg and Rebecca has a hen from his flock that lays pink eggs too.

What colors are your girls? I don't know much about colors and genetics but I know there's a thread all about silkie genetics with some really educated folks. They might be able to give you an idea of what he can throw...I have no clue if porcelain is dominant or recessive or has to have 2 carriers. Not sure if this is making sense....I'm confusing myself. Anyway, if you decide to let the girls hatch their eggs it might be worth it to know what you can expect.

No pinks but their Blue eggs are *huge! The one never laid any pullet eggs, she started right in laying whopper sized eggs. I'll be very glad to get the last of some of Jack's. I'm very excited and I hope he's got enough for me!

My blue cochin roo is 10 weeks old and has bald spots on his back. He had chick fuzz on his back by his tail head but now it is gone. I had him in a seperate cage because I was worried the other chicks were picking on him but I didn't see any blood or injuries. Is this normal? I can dust him with poultry dust again ( I dusted everyone a out a month ago just as a precaution).

My Cochins did that too, especially the boys! They just go through a terrible awkward phase lol
