We have had owls land on snap traps at the entry of coops protected by 2x4 screen panels, but not had one enter a live trap.
An owl that hunts at dusk and dark makes a nice predator protection....until....it is the only hunter/predator left.
Once an owl learns that chickens are easy prey, the owl will invade a pen and hop into a coop without a secure doorway. Learned that lesson the hard way.
