***OKIES in the BYC III ***

MiMi I noticed in your pics that your birds were outside. Are you able to keep them outside all the time? I understood that they were super sensitive to cold. I keep my pair outside but they aren't as tiny as yours. Love the colors of yours! When I did homehealth in another lifetime I took care of an old gentelman and one of his favorite sayings was "all the color in the world" ,yours sure fit that !lol

Wayne, we kept my wifes silkied seramas outside this past winter when the temp was at 0, as long as you keep them out of the wind they do just fine...we moved them into a building when the temps hit -10 with -25 windchill...ours are outside year round unless it gets in the negatives, which is not real normal here...

Love it!

Mine had the choice of going out or in until I became over run with babies and silkies.

Then they were seperated into three cages. I also kept brooder lights going in the hen house all winter for everyone to warm up by.

Even now I turn on a 100 watt bulb in the babies pen that runs day and night. I'll turn it off when temps are 70* or better at night.

I've got to get busy one of these days and make lots of pens! I need more silkie pens, Serama pens, duck runs (so I can seperate them by color), Marans pen/run (now I need three of these since I bought eggs from OkCarla), the list keeps growing!

I'm addicted.

Then there are 101 or more other projects that don't even have anything to do with all my birds!

Got to get back outside and finish watering, ect....
