***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Thanks for that article Les, we the are most proud of our frizzled NNs. I put that aseel rooster in with my nn hens after talking with you I decided that was a must.

Through the years if we have only had one breed on the place they were NNs. I was dead set against those ugly things at first but I came around.

Haha! Can't say that too loud in Pittsburg county! I'm with you tho. I got so burnt out on porkchops, catfish, okry and hominy that I have to kill the taste of them all with Tabasco.

Les I gotta question for you. We butchered some NN roosters about 6 mos ago and we noticed that a few had a yellow appearance they were raised from the same stock on the same feed but the skin and fat was bright yellow any idea what may have caused that, their livers looked normal in size and texture they taste was the same also.

many breeds have yellow skin and it could have been due to past outcrosses. To keep the look of the NNs they have got to be outcrossed every few generations as they will try to revert back to the old Mad. game type and look but the dead in shell rate goes way up when this happens.
