Good morning everyone.

Didnt even get a sprinkle yesterday.

My little muskovey duck is now a proud momma of 4 baby guinea keets. 2 pearl and 2 lavendar. Will check on her again today.

Yes we have our sale this weekend. It will be cool inside.

My advise to anyone that sales birds.... Want spring prices wait til spring. Dont pull birds, which doesnt happen much, until you know what the market is
actually gonna do. Prices usually start low, then skyrocket. Prices are average amongst all the auctions at this time.

I may have several of my hens at the sale this saturday, Including Naked necks, Americaunas, and Dominiques. May have an Incubator if anyone is interested.
Sportsman, 3 drawers. Let me know if it will be worth taking it.

Just a reminder not to over look the dogs in this heat! Our Pyrenees over heated yesterday. So got him inside trying to keep him cool. He is the only dog we have that hates water. Won't get near the kiddie pool or step in the neighbors pond. I tried to talk our anatolian mix into coming inside. He refused to come through the door. He has been trained to stay out too bad he hasn't been trained to obey! That dog is to big for me to pick up & carry so he will stay outside for now.

Anyone grow out ducks for meat? Just wondering what does best around here. Was considering Pekin but Most of what I see on craigslist is Muscovy (made me think they did better here).

Dont think I have ever eaten a duck but DH has a friend that wants to put some ducks out here to fill his freezer with. Any recommendations?

Oh & peaches my DH should be bringing the keets to the auction this week. (us girls leave tomorrow for sixflags & shopping in Dallas) He wants to wait for spring to get more $$ for DD. I want to have the peace of mind of knowing that they are not my responsibility anymore. Sure they are DD birds, but do you really think an 11 yr old takes good care of birds without any reminders or help? Plus she will prob hatch 100 birds a wk come spring.

What an exciting week! My pullets have started laying and my broodys eggs are hatching!

I have 3 different pens. They are all about 80-90% shaded. It sure helps to keep the coops cooler! Wasn't really expecting them to hatch in this heat, so I let out an excited little scream when I walked in and saw them!
