***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Sad to say not a drop of rain today. It did cool way off & made for a great night to work outside. Guy that was suppose to finish up with the hay had both of his balers broke down tonight. Had several guys out there working on them & no luck. Hopefully they can get whatever parts are needed & get them up & going tomorrow- since there is still bunches of hay laying in the pasture.

I use the drip from the a/c for the dogs pool. I dump it out every few days but it always fills right back up. They wade & drink out of it. The guineas come play in it too.

Was given an old pool cover, for an inground pool. It is very similar to shade cloth. Hung it up coming off the side of the barn now the chickens will have a very large shaded area outside of the coop & they can play in the grass all day long. Might try to snap a pic with my phone tomorrow.

Absolutely hate summer colds. Nyquil may not help a cold, but it sure does help you not feel so bad for the time you are asleep.

I hope you don't come down with one. My oldest son has one & he is having a hard time kicking it. Hope you feel better.

Good Morning!
Hate hate summer colds...get well fast!

77 degrees this morning and lots of clouds...

...for some rain today.

Chicks in the new digs (hottub room) are doing great. Set the window unit for 75 and they are eatting their med crumbles, fruit, cold water and their special mash mixed up twice a day. PW like frozen blueberries.
Angel is doing well too. She has located her water and feed cups in her cage and can reach both from the crepe myrtle limb i set on the floor of the cage for her "roost". She has to walk from one corner to another so she gets exercise. SDhe coos/growls every time I talk to her. It's amazing how quickly a blind hen can learn to adjust.

I wonder if Angel's ability to adjust to new surroundings is because she doesn't spend time complaining about any change, but instead says "now that I have found my food and water, I am good to carry on."

Roger and I both laughed at that! Glad you got some rain and sold some birds too.
Which Boomerrang? We frequent the one out on Kickapoo.

I know achicken buyer i that will buy all my extra male birds ,he goes to marys swap ever sat.not real price but cuts my numbers down .this years hatch was lots of male birds ive sold some last some this week and have put about sixty in the freezer . hope you and roger have ablessed day

Yes, I agree P&B..she is a sweety. And since no other bird is competing for her food cup, she is even more settled.

DGibson..we will have to try that one.

On the soaked oats...is that seed , crimped, rolled...feed store? I'm going to get some when I get feed in town this week and give my birds a new treat....anything to get the moisture in them.

Looks like we are in for more hot days. The easy thing to do in summer is remove as much clothing as is decent...where we live on a highway...just don't want to expose so much skin that the hot dry winds turn you into jerky!!

Chores are done outside, water is going in the garden, load of laundry is on, breakfast dishes cleared. The boys have gone to haul hay; I'm going to work on a quilt top.

That made me laugh! It sure wouldn't take much for that to happen these days.

You are a talented woman! I hope to do half of what you do when my kids are gone out of thehouse!
