We are north of 29th street. We have Red Jungle Fowl and Guineas. We plan on breeding the jungle fowl and selling them, but also come spring we are going to get some egg layers. I just bought a chicken coop from a guy off of pot road yesterday. He said he also makes coops that are 10 feet long x 6 feet wide x 4 feet high for $175 I plan on getting one in the spring for the egg layers. What kind do you have?
Several OE Bantams, and Sebrights. Sold off all of our large fowl over the last few weeks. Will be re-adding bantam wyandotte in Black, Silver Penciled, Columbian, and an un-disclosed secrative variety seldom seen in the US.
If you need some Pens come give us a visit, I can show you what we use and how they are built. I am also getting rid of our older 10x10 pens that were subdivied into 10x5s. They will be rather cheap if you would be interested in them.
Do you plan to show your Jungle fowl.
I dont know anything about showing. Might be somthing to look into. I figured if i sold the chicken do a kid in FFA he would know what to do. but i'll research it. Thanks.

NanaKat,
you are the proud new owner of two additional Columbian Wyandottes that hatched yesterday... I will place them in teh brooder for you.
Yippee!! I have a place all ready in the hottub room.
The girls haven't laid any since they arrived...still settling in I guess. They are in with the others in the teen pen now and no problems. One of the girls was checking out the nest box in the little coop.

Well, I need James' truck so I can get the material to re-roof the coop. James has been conveniently forgetting that I need the truck (he's supposed to be riding the Harley to/from school) because it's been "too cold to ride" for the last week, so I haven't been able to get the roofing.
I'm debating asking Lowe's if they'll cut the roofing for me. If they will, cut to size it'll fit in my hatchback if I lay down the back seat. But yes, the chickens would enjoy NOT getting wet every time it rained.

Stick around, come by and visit, join us for a show or two this year.. If you want to get top $$ for your birds you will need to show some. Its not hard by any stretch, they do take some prep work but well worth the effort.
there are two shows this weekend in Newcastle, One on Saturday and one on Sunday. There is a big show in Shawnee at teh expo every year. No admission you really should come check it out if you get a chance.

No Problem, I have no extras to spare... believe it or not I got rid of a lot of the birds and we down to absolute must have breeders and the birds that are being shown this year. It is kind of nice to have 0 extra birds..
I'll bet that big girl is looking even better since she should be getting close to finishing her molt... He mother was HUGE and round.. she has always looked real nice too I expect Madison to do very well with her for a few years, since she won't even reach full size until next fall.
