***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Wish my day was almost over! Since breakfast been helping DD clean her room!!!!! Oldest one took about 3 hours to go through her clothes & get everything out of her room that didn't belong. Younger one has only made it through her closet & dresser! now we are moving on to the room itself. Seriously is exauhsting. Still need to get stuff ready for the guineas that are hatching early. Have 7 out so far. Lots more pipped.

They do fluff out much faster in the hatcher than when I hatch in my Eco.

We've been playing with quail instead of chickens. We got 50ish of the little fuzz butts moved from an inside brooder to an outside brooder. They still will have a heat lamp on them another couple weeks or so, but have began the transition to outside.

At least they grow fast and mature fast too, with 50 you will have more than you can count after they start laying in teh spring...

I have thought about Bob whites just to raise and release around here.. but haven't gone past the thinking phase thankfuly.

Hey everyone:

We arrived to our destination area here in very upstate New York Monday evening after leaving Oklahoma on Saturday morning. The drive here was absolutly beautiful, I almost forgot what trees looked like and what rain felt like on my face.. ha ha ha.

Anyhow Lord willing Jason and I will be in the Poultry business again come spring should

THIS: 1885 5 Bedroom on 15 acres

Become our reality come November 30th as we officially went under contract this morning(gave them the listing price of 129900 for the full 15 acres with cillo and outbuildings instead of the negotiating price for just 5 acres and the home)

I cant wait to share with you all our journeys out here... everything inside this home is so up my ally and guess what the big concerns we ran into with our home back in OK have already been dealt with in this home... so we are good thus far on the big stuff. anyhow I hope you all are doing well,

thank you Michael and family for the well wishes and check on us texts during our drive.. they were most welcome and appreciated.

PS: MaryBeth, we bragged about you and the honey to the sellers of the home... they asked us if we were into bee keeping because they keep two active hives

and that they would be willing to show us the ropes on bee keeping and cheese making(they raised dairy goats for cheese and milk ect as well as ran a bakery out of their home.. which by the way the home includes all the industrial bakery equipment... I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH HUGE MIXERS before

)

anyhow until we close on the farmhouse we are currently calling the econo lodge home.. cia

Hi all, have not been on in a long time, we are still going and still have some chickens, sold out of my breeder hogs and only kept 2 feeder pigs to raise out for us to put in the freezer, just can't buy the feed any longer, I am going to thin down the chicken flock also, if anyone is interested in some naked necks, or others, I may have some for sale, thinking about loading them up and hauling them all to Micheal some weekend!!! Hope all is well with everyone, Marybeth if you are on here and see this, I have a friend that has a couple trios of Pheasants for sale and some extras. Email me at [email protected]. Well gotta go to WalMart and get some stuff to make a big pot of chili!!!! Yall have a great day, Lynn

It has all the original wood floors and wanescoting and tin ceiling. and when you go down to the basement you see the old original cistern it had in the home..

I cant begin to tell you what a dream this place is for my "Country Sampler Heart" (if you ever seen the magazine this place totally represents what you would see in that mag). The sellers are in the 60's and very very down to earth and very welcoming, the wife is from Germany and just so gentle and kind especially when talking with our daughter.. Our realtor said to us this morning that she felt a lil out in the dark because we connected so much with the sellers on poultry, goats animals in general that she thought we could have been long lost friends playing catch up.. I truly feel that I could be friends with these folks even if the buying doesnt work out.. they were that genuine ...

Anyhow.. I cant wait to share photos along the way.

Anybody know of squirrel rehabbers? Have a momma squirrel that dh found out back dead on Saturday. Been hearing chirping in woods, found 1 dead & 1 live. Dh is looking now to see if he can reach the nest & if there are any others. Figure they have been 5 days with no nourishment, so any survivors would be surprising.

Giving this little one pedialight now. It has fur (and fleas) but eyes still shut. Have it in a box with heat lamp. Can't believe it made it through the night in the cold.
