That does not sound like a dog even... I have seen them dig in, break fencing, but removing items to open a door or gate does not sound like a dog.. I think you have a neighbor problem that happened to have a dog with them.. You need a camera set-up.

I agree..camera..post "no trespassing" signs too...not that a sign would keep them out, just give a better legal edge when you shoot them!

You took the words right out of my mouth - or off my keyboard! That's exactly what I would do too, Rebecca. I'm so sorry about your losses and hope you find who / what is going after your flock.

No big deal, that like half the dosage I use... I keep my birds penned and have used it on birds that had worms when we aquired them and when on a wire bottom cage with a catch tray I can tell you it worked well. As did the the follow up. did you read the dosage used? .2mg / Kg of body weight.. I would not expect that to be effective..
Did you notice that it does not state the actual product used and teh % of active ingredient. Additionally this was released for publication in 1989, but finally published in 2010.
I will stick with my current routine, it works for me, and that is what I know..

I got the link from another thread. It seems the Ivomec disagreement wages everywhere lol
I think you're definitely onto something with the wire bottom cages. That alone is going to cut down on the majority of worms right there. I certainly can attest to how huge, healthy & robust your birds are. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Whatever you're doing is working so I'd be hesitant to change it either.

I agree with the others-dogs just aren't that smart. Could it possibly be a kid who came along with his dog poking around or something? Or maybe they were just loose dogs that followed him. Maybe he didn't realize the mayhem that would ensue and got out of there fast and left the dogs there. Then the dogs (being dogs with idiot owners who don't confine them) came back today for more games.

Yeah Gregory and the turkey hen! I've been feeling sick for you all day.
A few years ago a neighbor's 3 Labradors repeatedly attacked at Jack's place - Killed 2 deer, several turkeys and more. Jack finally caught tem after they had nearly wiped out his Australorps, killed 46 befor jack shot 2 of them. found out who they belonged to by the taggs on one of them. This neighbor said he knew they were getting out but had no idea that they were doing all that killing.
Well motivated dogs can be pretty smart. There is not a fence that my dog can't climb or jump. I've watched him bank off a wooden fence that it butts up a chain link. He wanted inside the chain link and would normally climb it but he knows it is electrified. He has to have a choke chain on a teather because can slip right out of collars (and harnesses!). I bet he could slide a door latch open, but your set up sound more complicated than that.

Anyone have big plans this weekend?

DD is at a friends. DH is working tomorrow. Leaves me & the teenage DD home, guessing we will bake some stuff, maybe make a few caseroles for the freezer & atempt something crafty I am sure.

Roasted my roosters I slaughtered last Sunday- I had skinned them, so I wrapped them in bacon, put some broth in the bottom of the pan & tented foil over them~~~ was so yummy. Bacon flavored chicken, yum!!!! Came out moist too.

Tomorrow we're doing a trick or treat thing at MWC Regional park in the afternoon. We don't have James' son for halloween this year but wanted him to have some fun, so I'll take them there. Gotta love free community stuff.

Other than that, not much planned. James seems to think that I'll want to play WoW with him all day tomorrow, but I have already told him that I have an essay and an assignment to do this weekend, and I just haven't been in the mood to game.

First world problems, I have them.

Guess I'm to old Faeri, whats WoW?
I get to go to the big fall Amish sale tomorrow. Been counting the days!lol Not planning on getting much,to broke ,but I think I am just addicted to going and watching and looking!
It was a rainy day here. Going to have a hard freeze tonight. Tomorrow night down in the low twentys! Okay ,I'm ready for spring!Lol Is it to early to start saying that!

Sounds to me like they definitely had some two legged help!
