I was just kicking around some comments with a friend (she's also an Okie BYCer but I forget her username, I've known her since high school) on Facebook about the fact we should have gone to Blanchard/Newcastle and bought roosters for freezer camp when they were going cheap. Now I can't get to the next two sales, and of course Shawnee is not the time for roosters to eat.
Kass, I need to learn to garden like you.
Went grocery shopping tonight. Spent $200 and it wasn't enough for an entire month. It's just so frustrating. Bear in mind that I am wheat free and my daughter is a supertaster, so that rules out wheat products and beans/lentils and a lot of other "cheap" food stretchers (because supertasters have issues with texture of their food and can't help but throw up). Most coupon items we don't use because generic is cheaper than coupon price, etc. Just... not feeling too good today.
Plus, I lost two chicks from Elite, not sure what happened, but both went fast today. Luckily they were the babies and not the 8 week olds.
I did have an ah ha! moment and realize I could make jelly out of fruit juice from the store (the 100% juice, organic) for a ton of jelly (more than I have jars for!) it's less than $5. Making a batch of half pints right now since we're OUT. I got plain apple juice, and pomegranate acai (figured for that cheap, I figure why not try it).
