***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Oh yea-and I forgot to tell you all.......when I give the Faverolles pair their food or treats he snatches it up and gives it to her
love.gif
He stands back and lets her eat and doesn't take any of it until she's done, how sweet is that????
I was telling MJ, the LF Cochin pair I got from her are sweet like that, too. The male keeps the other hens back while the tiny little female eats. The 2 little Bantam Cochins seem to be the "yard bosses" (if that tells you anything about how wimpy my chickens are lol) and if the Cochin boy from MJ sees one of the bantams chase at his 'girl' he waddles over fast as he can and chases them off and huddles around her clucking. I just love how roosters take care of their hens

I have a score!!! I thought I had purchased a forced air dehydrator years ago, but had not ever used it (school and work and all) but since I had not seen it in years I thought maybe I just wanted one and never actully got it. Well today I was looking for something else and went looking in the way back area of a cabinet I never get into (very difficult to access the way back part) and there it was another dehydrator!!!! Awesome, maybe I can get caught up on my dehydrating now.

Awesome thank you. Always lookin for a bargain

Went home at lunch, went into the mudroom and flipped a jar of the jelly upside down. It all moved as one (i.e. it's jelled, kinda) but it's a bit loose. Ah well. It'll work. Means I don't have to re-process it.

I'll take what I can get.

Just checking-- is anyone going to be traveling from the Stilwater area south to the Ada area in the next few days? Or from The Stilwater area east to Tulsa or Muskogee area?

I think if I'd have ever bought a dehydrator I'd have remembered it-haha!

OH, I wake up in a whole new world everyday!!!! Seriously!!! My husband benefits from it, b/c I when I get mad, give it a couple of hours (max) I will be clueless I was ever mad. If I get mad enough I can sometimes remember that I had been mad, but can't remember why! I would worry about early onset alzhiemers except I have been this way my entire life. When I was a child my brother and I were close and the worst "punishment" we could give the other one was the silent treatment. He would get mad and not talk to me for days, I would get mad and have every intention of not talking to him for the rest of my life .................................. 15 minutes later I had completely forgotten and was chatting away like nothing happened.

There were a ton of birds at Durant tonight. I just dropped off some birds for Grace but I had to wait in line to unload. There was some guy with a large stock trailer packed full of chickens, gunnies, pigeons and probably something else. It was too full for me to see and they were trying to hurry and unload.

Doodle - This isn't as pretty as yours, but here's my attempt at a milking stand. I need to add some metal corner brackets to reinforce the head gate, but the rest of it seems sturdy enough.

It was too windy to work outside today, so I spent most of my time in the shop building a milking stand. The does are going to the breeder tomorrow, and I wanted to do a toenail trim without all the kicking and screaming that usually happens when the girls are just tied to the fence. Up on the stand with their faces in the feed bucket, both Naomi and Milagra were like Gumby statues. I got their hooves evened out and then brushed them just to remind them what that's like. Galen, the oldest and heaviest, wouldn't get on the stand, so I'm going to build a smaller platform that nests under the milking stand that can be pulled out when needed. I made the legs of the stand 24" rather than 12" because I want to stand next to the does to milk them. Sitting down, hunched over, isn't the most comfortable milking posture.

Those are beautiful. What kind of glaze will they have?
The Family ornament swap is a cool idea. I always get ornaments for my Brother and Sister-in Law's tree. They have a snowman theme. Will you make any snowflakes to sell? Say around Shawnee show time?

After I finish making enough for our family swap, I will make several sets to sell when I got to swaps, sales, and shows. I missed the show at Shawnee last year, but I'm going to do my best to be there this year

There are five different snowflakes in the mold I'm using, and each has its own unique little face. I plan to glaze some all white and use colored glazes for the eyes and lips. For other sets I thought I'd do some retro patterns. Maybe I'll do some with icy pastel colors too. I need to check my glaze cabinet to see what I've got. I also have stains and acrylic paints, but I like the permanence of glaze and tend to use it more than paint.

I think my Sister-in Law would love them since she also likes the terra cotta suns that have faces. She has a whole group of them on one wall. Your snowflakes look alot like them. I'll comission you to make some and if we can't get together sometime before Christmas I'll pay for the postage.
