Oh NaNa it appears you have gotten bit by the the terrible BANTAM BUG!!!! Your life will never be the same! You soon start to acquire more nad more of them and won't be able to control yourself. But boy will you have fun!lol. The D'Anvers are a very cool breed! They strut their stuff so boldly and can be very protective and sometimes on the onery side! There was a beautiful pair of Colimbian Wyandott bantams at the auction, they were the hit of the sale ,they just glowed!

Had a good sale day. It was the only one for Dec so the turnout was good. And prices were high. I bid on several things but backed out on them and came home empty handed, which made the wife very happy! There were lots of gots and pigs and calves. Pigs were cheap but goats and calves were their usual high prices.

Sounds like everyone had agreat time at the show. It was good to see all the old and new friends in the pictures. Hope you all encouraged them to come back on line and visit with us. It would sure make a great Christmas to have everyone back and see how hopping this thread can get!

That is Bob Bridges, a man I will gladly and happily say is a friend to me, he is a very good man with a big heart and very well known nation wide for virtually everything he raises. Over the last 14 years he has shown at over 400 shows and preformed well at all. heavily invlved with youth poultry programs. if you received a bird free from Bob you made a very good impression. Congrats on teh aquisition.. A pair from bob would have cost me at a friendly discount 100.

.. I looked him up on the internet!! Found his LabLuv Bantams and a way to send him a nice Thank you. I'm floored. This bird has definitely been hand held a lot. Bob told me the bird could be shown. Guess I need to find him a girlfriend.

Mrs. Fluffy Puffy :

Does anyone have any pictures of the chickens that were being shown there? ~Aspen

UpsyDazy's friend was taking photos of some of the birds on display. I had my camera and could kick myself for not taking pictures.
DGibson had some Buckeyes and Al had some of his Cornish from his AI project. Several others had entries. It would have been nice to post pictures of them standing with their birds.

So pretty. I got an Old English bantam hen, just as I was leaving. The man was packing up. I can't remember if the man said she was silver or blue. She is so pretty. I told hubby it was his birthday present and he sure seems taken with her. Being so new at this we forgot to quarantine her, so I hope she's healthy. I will post pictures tomorrow. It was so nice meeting everybody. I wish there was more time to visit.

Terrible night here I guess. I am watching dozens of emergency vehicles go by the house. Someone had a two car accident about a quater mile up the street. It has at least one fatality. Lifeflight circled for a while but apparently they waved him off because of the fatality. Two ambulances, fire and rescue, dozens of police cars and a bunch of assorted volunteer guys with lights. I can see part of the flashing lights looking out the window in front of me. Our house is in the middle of two hairpin curves, but the intersection where the wreck is ,is wide open as far as site but really in a slow zone area because of hilly terrain! Don't understand how it could have happened! Awful that its at this time of year. Not that any time is good.
