I am a little slow catching up....I had a great time at Shawnee talking with so many BYCers and having lunch together. It is always such a great event. Here are a few of the birds I took...BB, RB (my blacks) also a colorful friend.

Your birds at the show were soooo pretty! Channing says he'd have won if he were there but he refused to be paraded around like a piece of meat

I do not know if anyne here is interested or not but based on a call I received this morning thought I would at least throw it out there. I have friend with a breeder pair of Bantam Black Mottled Cochins and many young birds from the pair as well, that they interested in getting out of the bantam cochin so all are for sale likely quite reasonably priced. If interested please leave me out of teh middle, his number is 405-549-0654 his name is Robert.

I hope all enjoyed the show in shawnee, I know I did spent the entire time talking to folks and catching up with old friends.

We now have 49 large fowl with the bulk of the hens going on three years and still laying strong. (That's actual body count, not chicken math)
Even the Australorps girls are still giving 4-5 eggs a week at that age.
The young stock is laying nicely now and their eggs are getting bigger.

Bantams may not be as productive but will be fun to work on with the hubby.

We are moving the pottery wheel etc into the hot tub room so reworking the shed and henhouse will give us a choice of where to house the birds.
I will still brood all the babies in the hot tub room because of quick access to heat, lights, water and a fridge.

Oops, Roger just arrived with three new angus heifers. Got to call the vet for an appointment for their shots and need to get their cow tags ready.

Need a smilie with feet running like wheels and zooming off the page!
