How is he around birds?

He won't bother them as long as you are watching him. If he was left alone with them for long I think the puppy in him would take over.
But he does go in the pens with me when I feed, I just have not had a lot of time to work with him.

That'd be great news if they were somewhere I could just go buy a few instead of having to order them online. Thanks for the tip.
Kass, I'm on my way to go look at your birds!!

Meyer is in Ohio (or somewhere near there), there is a hatchery in Oklahoma in one of the "We" towns (weleetka, wewoka, wetumka I don't remember which) but they don't have EE's or Flavorelles, or Ameraucanas (the only bearded breeds I know)

The hatchery in okla is County Hatchery in Wewoka and they do have EEs tbey dont have the other bearded breeds though

Perhaps the bloodhound in him could be trained to help sniff out illness by scent.
I know Gracie is always checking my girls and always seems to know to protect any I have in quarantine. She doesn't have near the nose of a bloodhound.

My daughter is coming home for Christmas break tomorrow, and we have to haul hay, but I might be able to take him off your hands.

I'll PM you tomorrow evening.

This one made it all the way to the rafters, Jim's looking at me like, "See? Told ya they could fly." lol!
And here you go, June. Channing says this is his "show picture". He just wants to prove to everyone that he'd have won if he had stooped to the level of show birds and entered himself lol
And I found this purple pumice perch for him to keep his toe nails and beak trimmed, he really does use it for his beak and roosts on it all the time. My husband seems to think there's something obscene about it though

I told him he better just keep his trap shut about that & Channing loves his purple perch.

Ksane it was nice meeting you also. Modenas can fly, just not very high and far LOL. Modenas flying would be like me running. It can happen, it just looks bad when it does.

Good evening all. It was a hectic day at work. I left early and helped DH tend to the cattle. I haven't been able to do that in a few months. It was nice. We ended up going to town this evening. DH and I ended up getting our hair cut and we had dinner. They did a little Christmas shopping for me, while I got my hair chopped. I cut about 3-4 inches off and had it layered and thinned out. That makes about 15 inches that I've cut off this year. I had 10 inches cut before my surgery.

I think my Doxie could be trained for that, he is a little nursemaid, if any of our pets are injured at all he is the first to alert us to the problem. He is 11 lbs and I have seen him hold down our 70 lb lab/rot mix to tend to her injury. He can be quite persistant!!!!!!
