Good Morning! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Got rain here last night & more do today so I will be mucking it up come feed time.

It's raining and way too dark to walk around outside. I think I will wait until I can see what I'm stepping in/on before I put on rain gear and muck boots. Hope everyone has a great day. I'm headed to Tulsa later to pick up ornaments to mail to out-of-state relatives and drop off presents at daughter's MIL's so that I don't carry them all the way to BVille. Piggies are swaddled and boxed. I'm already having piggy baby withdrawals.

Every piggy needs a pet chicken.

PoCo those are so cute! I'm sure they will be a hit at Christmas. So neat that you made them by hand,makes them priceless,You can;'t even find them at Walmart!lol.

Morning Sooner,are you trudgeing thru anothet work day? Is Maddie keeping you busy this week? Proably not anymore shows before Christmas are there?

Supposed to be cloudy but dry here but there is a heavy mist falling,guess I'll iron and work on my quilt.

Morning Everyone!

Well it is dark, rainy and gloomy out there but honestly I am just happy for the rain, even if it is late.

That hound dog sure is nice but I am getting another dachshund puppy so Stella will have a brother and I just can not see getting another dog. Speaking of dogs, Stella is really good about finding the hurt or sick birds in the flock. She really loves her chickens, especially the serama rooster I got from June. If you are looking for a dog that is fearless when it comes to vermin, loyal to their people and is very protective of their flock mini dachshunds are it. Plus they fit well in most overhead bins.

I brought Stella to work with me and right now her and the rooster are playing. Rooster Boo likes to grab her tail and she plays keep away with him. Stella also likes to sneak up on him and stick her cold nose on his butt, which makes him jump. They will do this for hours if I let them. It is so darn funny.

Better get busy, have a meeting today, then heading to Shawnee to get Stella's little brother.

Mostly good news to report on the missing teen chicks. All came home this morning but one... one of my favorites of course... but the rest are all snug inside and working on getting dried off. They apparently found a new direction to escape and couldn't find their way back. I suspect there may have been something chasing them, for them to have gone off so far.... maybe whatever got the missing pullet? Hopefully they'll spend the day behaving and not plotting their next escape. It's probably time to find them new homes, I was just hoping it could wait until spring. Don't want them to get picked off one by one though. I'll try to post pics soon to see if they turned out to be what everyone thought they were when I posted baby pics.

These Silkie girls I got from Betsy are so awesome. The black one, Winona, got a hair cut around her eyes this morning and she's been walking around with her neck stretched out for 2 hrs now lol. They're so funny when they get the fuzz cut out of their eyesight. I'm so glad I finally got some dark colors. I'm planning the All-Girl pen for when I put these 2 with my other Silkie girls. My 6 hatchery Silkie girls are just a few months younger than these 2 but they're a lot smaller. I can put the group of 8 in an 8x8 pen with a coop inside of a building to go into. Or I can put them in a 10x10 pen but it'll just have a 4x4x4 coop, not an actual building. Any opinions on if an 8x8 pen is big enough? I don't want to crowd them but I also would rather have them with access to a building instead of a free-standing 4x4 coop. It's not predators I'm worried about, it's cold, ice, etc.
Also-which one of you forgot to tell me how wonderful Betsy's Silkies were??? Gentle, calm and sweet, I loved these girls on sight.
